I am unsure how I feel about this season. I do like some of the dancers but I am not sure if I like the new format....

There are/were many dancers that I absolutely cannot stand - Robert, Kent, Adechike, and Melinda. I do love Alex, Jose, and Ashley and hope they will be in the finals.

Getting late - so I'll find season 6 & 7, as well as some group #'s later.

As for this week's US show, it wasn't a good week IMO. Just nothing stellar again.

I really didn't care for Mia saying that she missed Alex so much in the Bollywood routine - she didn't even consider that Adechike had to learn and perform Alex's part in 1 day and that he might've been a bit nervous about doing it after seeing Alex injure himself during their rehearsal. She did apologize for being overly harsh last night, but it won't stop her later. In a way, I think she really wants Adechike to be another Brandon - she didn't even want B in the top 20 during season 5 and he won her over within weeks after the competition started. With Adechike, she liked him from the start and the judges have been saying that he essentially has to work on his performance, which is what Brandon also lacked during Vegas week for Mia.

I'm glad Cat called out the judges on how easy they are on Jose and how harsh they are towards some of the others. Now, I understand the harshness because it is tough love, but I don't like that they gush over Jose and call him the weakest dancer. They need to critique each from the same perspective.

Sad that Alex had to leave due to injury. I know he won a lot of fans after last week's hip hop with Twitch.

Forgot to mention that I enjoyed seeing Katee fill in for Allyson this week. Katee definitely looks more like a cat than Allyson, who is one of my favorites, too.

Again, that's why I got upset with Mia...she compares dancers or say things that are soooooo unprofessional. Whether it was Melinda's time to go or not was didn't give Mia the right to say to her....we saved the wrong dancer....how low is that....sorry never thought I would say this .....but..................where's Mary!!!!

I thought it was just me getting upset over Mia, the cruel judge, but I see on the message board at SYTYCD there are 17 pages of others thinking the same way. Thank God for them and my sanity.

As I mentioned, for me, it's how Mia is speaking her mind, not neccessarily what she is saying. There are many ways to say that she expects more from Melinda and Adechike without implying that they are mistakes.

A lot of people on that board are saying it's bigotry, etc. Don't see that because one is white female and the other black male. Also, she's praised minority Jose and other dancers of various cultural backgrounds, as much as she's criticized everyone else.

She's obviously a very passionate person about dance and the dancers do respect her opinion a lot. So, for me, she really needs to express what she really means in a less harsh manner. All she really had to say to Adechike was that his performance wasn't up to her expectations of his capabilities and he needs to improve x, y & z. If she had just said that and not brought up the great Alex Wong, I wouldn't have had a problem with what she said.

Unlike other big egos, she is willing to say that she was wrong. During season 5, she told Brandon she didn't understand why the other judges were so passionate about him after seeing him in Vegas. However, when she watched him compete in the show, she publicly apologized and told him how thrilled she was to be proven wrong.

Other judges have not liked contestants. Tyce DiOrio told Benji during the finals that he didn't even want him in the top 20, but was glad to be proven wrong.

Anyway, what I'd really like to ask the judges after how get they tough on the better dancers and gush over Jose is 'Would you hire Jose or _____ if you had to choose between the 2 to fill in an emergency spot right now on a show you choreographed?'

Didn't see the exchange re: Mia... but it sounds like she's going for the Simon Cowell reward, don't see what the big deal is. it works for him.
