At Nebelhorn, they only earned 126.27 vs 139.19 here! This score would have earned them a comfortable 4th, and within shouting distance of 3rd at Nebelhorn. That's a huge improvement for them.

You're Welcome! And I wanted to know if anyone had ever skated for Monaco before and the first was Mérovée Ephrem who was at the 2007 European championships. She was also French who moved to Monaco.

As an Ice Dance fan from Australia I was wondering if any one has footage of the Australian couple. It seems all their endeavours, including training under and having Pasquale Camerlengo choreograph their short dance has failed to improve their scores. It would be hoped that this is not another case of the ISU having more footage of them to use at seminars showing where the tech specialists and judges get it wrong.
Sadly for this couple the results of this comp will influence decisions regarding funding so it may very well be their last season.
I need some help from the experts- does anyone anyone have an explaination for no tech call on an element in a freedance as was the case with the Australian couple in this competition?- just noted it on the detailed score sheet. They did the lift in the program and in the previous comp if was credited a level 4.
Could this be a mistake on the part of the technical controller?
Without seeing the programme, it's hard to tell what happened. They could have botched the element and failed to reach even Lvl 1 requirements. Or it could be deemed illegal, maybe because of the dismount or whatever (V/M modified one of their lift exits in the FD last season because it might have exceeded 1 jump revolution, for example). Otherwise, the TC could have regarded the lift as repeated, which would invalidate it. The Shibutanis have a lift in their FD that has a rotational dismount. A TC could deem it as a combo lift, which could invalidate the whole element since only 1 combo lift is permitted. That didn't happen at Nelbelhorn.
The following from ISU Communication 1621 describes an illegal lift:
Pretty much the same things are illegal in the LP3. Illegal Elements/Movements
The following Elements and Movements are not permitted in the Short dance unless otherwise stated in an ISU
Communication:
• Movements and/or poses in the Lifts:
Lifting hand(s) of the lifting partner higher than his head*;
Lying or sitting on the partner’s head;
− Sitting or standing on the partner’s shoulder, back;
− Lifting partner swinging the lifted partner around by holding the skate(s)/boot(s) or leg(s) only with
fully extended arm(s) or by holding the hand(s) with full arm extension by both partners;
− Lifted partner in upside down split pose (with sustained angle between thighs more than 45 degrees)**
*It is NOT considered as an illegal lift if:
− the point of contact of the lifting hand/arm of the lifting partner with any part of the body of the lifted
partner is not sustained higher than the lifting partner’s head;
− the lifting hand/arm which is used for support or balancing only or which touches any part of the body
of the lifted partner is not sustained by the lifting partner higher than his head for more than 2 seconds.
** A brief movement through an upside down split pose (with any angle between thighs) will be permitted if it
is not established (sustained) or if it is used only to change pose.
• Jumps (or throw jumps) of more than one (1) revolution or jumps of one (1) revolution skated at the same
time by both partners;
• Lying on the ice
Getting a lift called "No level" can happen this way.10. Rule 611 paragraph a) iv) - Marking of Short Dance and Free Dance
a) iv) Illegal Elements/Movements
There must be a 2.0 point deduction for every illegal element/movement performed in the Short Dance
and/or Free Dance. For the list of Illegal Elements/Movements for Short Dance see Rule 609, paragraph 3
and for the list of Illegal Elements/Movements for Free Dance see Rule 610, paragraph 3.
If there is an illegal movement during the execution of any element, the deduction for an illegal movement
will apply and the element will receive Level 1 if the requirements for at least Level 1 are fulfilled.
Otherwise the element will be called No Level.
It can also happen if there is a problem in a spin (This happened to DomShabs, in their FD, at Cup of China, in AFAIR 2007, when they were doing Masquerade Waltz. Max lifted Oksana off the ice during the spin, and the caller called it a lift. At that point, the last lift in the program became a lift that didn't count.
