Minto Summer Skate in Ottawa 7/29 to 8/1

I just skimmed through them and didn't recognize the competitors, except for Shaquille Davis (CAN) and Paolo Bonifacio Parkinson (ITA) in Sr. men's and Harvey and Gagnon in Sr. Dance.

The most interesting event in Minto is the junior dance where there are 24 teams ( all Canadian ones ) entered. Given that both Ralph/Hill and Paul/Islam are skating on the senior GP, it leaves a lot of JGP spots open.

The team that finished 2nd in Cdn juniors has aged out and broken up. The team that finished 3rd went to JW and failed to make it to the free dance. With none of the couples that can do JGP having strong international results in the past, there are no guaranteed JGP slots.

This event is almost a virtual JGP playoff.

Jr FD was won by Carolyn MacCuish / Tyler Morris 63.87, 2nd place Edrea Khong / Edbert Khong 61.74, 3rd place Kelly Oliveira / Jordan Hockley 60.69, 4th place Nicole Orford / Thomas Williams

And in an interesting twist, the Jr SD was won by Doleman/Carswell, who did not place particularly well in the FD
