Mao and Dai??![]()
Dai seems more like a GBF to me...
That is amazing if Mao and Dai are together!
2 of the best in the world! 2 World Champions and Olympic Medalist!
They could try pairs as well
I am so impressed with the Japanese skaters and so many of them excel as singles, I hope a top pair would come! Maybe Akiko Suzuki could try in that arena!
I would have loved Takahiko and Mao! They look great together!
I hope Dai starts feeding Mao. She looked almost sickly at Worlds.

Mao has the ability to judge coollyIt seems like her new coach-skater relationship is good for her.
I wanted to use the Mao news thread but I couldn't. Moderators, if you deem it appropriate please merge this to that threat.
Here's what I've found!

Mao and Taka look so cute together! And Kanako, wow, does she look gorgeous or what?!
Kanako looks stunning, can't wait to see the whole thing. There were rumors that Tarasova choreographed a program for Kanako, could it be this number?
Has anyone found any reviews of the show yet?
I heard it is one of her old SPs. She loves this flamenco program so much that she skated to it.
Kanako is a very musical (the thing she loves most to do for fun is dancing!) and versatile skater, she can skate to almost anything, from a cute, happy energetic pop number to a graceful swan lake, and someting like "Be Italian".
I think Tarasova's dramatic style will suit her as well.
During the last WC, she was being very nervous since it was her first WC and her first visit to Russia. And she had motivation troubles because of the earthquakes and was feeling she was not prepared. So Mao took care of her, giving her tips and advice. I read a report that Mao and TAT watched men's practice together in a special section and Kanako was there together with them. It must have been the start of their getting to know each other.
I love Kanako and I agree, she's very musical. I love her personality on the ice and she does seem pretty versatile. I think TAT's dramatic flair will work nicely with Kanako's expressiveness and effervescence. She looks so grown up and mature in that clip! I can't wait to see the full program.
Mao looks lovely as always. She's really the only skater whose exhibition I actually look forward to every year. Her Ballade from last year is nothing short of perfection. Simply exquisite. I can't wait to see what she's come up with this year.
I'm also interested in seeing what Mirai has come up with. I like that clip of her I saw at Sun Valley, so I'm really excited to see a decent video of it...
Even these small glimpses are delightful. I love when Mao and Daisuke skate together. That little snippet with Meryl Davis and Charlie White is also wonderful.
I agree that Mao is someone whose exhibitions I always look forward to.. Exhibition skating may be moribund in the U.S., but thankfully it picked a grand moment to flourish in Asia, because skaters like Mao are even more exciting in an exhibition free skate than they are in competition.
