As far as I know Michelle actually is the one who introduced the Charlotte spiral into a competitive programs. (Many skaters did it in shows -- starting with Charllotte Oelschlagel herself.) Sasha has a great one.

Really??? I didn't know that. How could I not have known that?

Anyway, Sasha has the best Charlotte spiral on the planet, not suprising, given her facility for such moves, and I love it when she includes it.
But Michelle's is quite lovely. Alissa's too but somehow, I prefer Michelle's.
The Charlotte is one of the my favorite moves. I know there are some posters who absolutely hate it but I think it's an amazing show of athleticism.

I seem to recall that also, Math. I remember Peggy's voice explaining what it was when Michelle first presented it. She has a way of caressing the ice with her hand as she's coming out of it that's just lovely. Sasha's Charlotte is unrivaled in terms of position, of course, and she even manages to perform it going backward. I agree with Layfan that the Charlotte is a sign of great athletic power--holding that glide while practically upside-down has to be as hard as a jump.

Does anyone know how Ashley did? I can't seem to find any videos except some 44 second of fanmade video from the audience... Was it commercial break in Korea/Japan during her programs or something??

Sasha's charlote is beautiful because of her flexibility, Michelle's is beautiful because of the dynamic and because it is like she is including it in the theme of her program, I havent seen Michelle live (and I dont think I will if I dont move to USa/ Korea:no:) but it shows from tv.
Still laughing with the olive head:laugh:

What a slap in the face to poor Miss Ashley
I haven't seen her but read somewhere she did two snappy programs. I mean how bad could she be when we hear how great that cheesey duet was  :)

Here is the short fan made clip of Ashley from the ATS show:

Here is 14 year old Sasha in 1999 showing a Charlotte. I can't recall when Michelle first showed her Charlotte .......

Here's Michelle at the same event.

I think this is "Kissing You," which was actually her exhibition program from the previous season (1998-99). Here is the fall, 1999, version.

(By the way, team USA lost to team Russia in that cheesefest.)

I don't remember that exhibition skate from Michelle but it was nice.
Here is Sasha, only 9 years old showing a Charlotte in a fully competitive SP ....;) :)

That video is from 1999, making Sasha 13 or 14.

Really - well she looks about nine so she fooled me. ;)

Btw, when Sasha was born it was a difficult delivery. Much to the surprise of the doctors, baby Sasha came out in a perfect Charlotte position with lovely pointed feet.

After a few gasps from the attending medical staff they burst into loud applause.
Only 10 seconds old, baby Sasha took a bow and then looked up for her score :p

Got to hand it to the girl -- she had her attitude down even way back then!

And once she learned how to lace up her left boot properly there was no stopping her.

I dont know when she introduced it, but this championships I remember like it was yesterday and was a hell of a program (and color dress:love:)

One of my absolute favorites, both because of the music and the beautiful skating. That and Lyra Angelica, 1998 Nationals, are where I go when I want to see something beautiful. If I'm sad, they lift me up, and if I'm happy, they add to my delight.

The Sasha tapes just prove that she had "it" all along. She never really looked juniorish, did she? I really miss her as a competitive skater.
