Huge Monko Khalavian lead like people were expecting. They are very good and almost could be senior level people.
Agreed. They actually said the big reason they didn't go senior was to get more points (they're the overwhelming frontrunners for everything this season) for the ranking, which was a very smart move. I look forward to seeing what they did. I also like Bonacorsi/Mager from what I've seen previously.

Yay Ksenia & Kirill!

Good for Lauri and Travis to move up to 3rd!
I wonder whether Friedenburg & Nykiel will get a second JGP, given their disaster in the free dance. (looks like they both fell at some point, but even with the 2 points restored, that is a very low FD score, even adding a few points for the blown element.)
I was at Brasov this weekend and I enjoyed very much the ice dancing competition. There is a huge margin between Ksenia and her partner, and the others. They are a gorgeous couple, very well matched. I also enjoyed the couple from America who took third place. They were beautiful in the SD, too bad they had a mistake there. I was sure they were going to give the russians a true competition, to be honest, when I first saw them. I liked them better then the couple who took silver so I do not understand the huge margin between second and third place. Lauri and Travis were first to skate in the FD, and after that, they changed their costumes ans were siting near us in the arena, it was clear they did not think they were going to medal. When the scores for the last couple came, they were so cute! They had to hurry back down to change their costumes again and on the podium, they were really happy.
To my untrained eye, they were clean in the FD, they were slightly off in their twizzles, but apart from that, they were ok. They got some low levels, but I'm sure they'll work on that by the next competition. Anyway, to me, they seemed a promising young couple.
