The free program should be very interesting.
Who knows what happended to Christina? What did she fall on?
I spoke with a friend of me, who is in Dresden.
Liza did 3Lz-3T, 3Lo and 2A. Jumps and Spins were all very good. My friend reported that she was the clear winner and that she really rocked the house!
Christina fell on her 3F. So no combo. The rest was good.
Polina landed her 3Lz-3T with a big smile but then fall on her 3Lo - which looked ur. My friend loved her spins.![]()

Dmitriev got a score of 53 at jr worlds which put him in 15th place. He got that because his spins and steps were level 1. Looks like he did better to get a score of 60 which I think indicates spins and steps at level 2. Or he reached 3 on one. That is someting to look for in the protocols. In the free skate at jr worlds he was fifth. He can do all jumps including quads and triple axels. He could medal very easily.
I don't usually follow juniors, but I'm interested in Elizaveta to see if she can land the 3axel in competition and thereby become the 6th woman in history to do so! And if she does, then we'll have a real competition between her & Mao one day in the future, if everybody stays healthy and Elizaveta can hang onto it during the next 4 years.
I'll be cheering her on because the accomplishment is so very very rare, and exciting, that I don't care whence it comes from (though I wish one day an American woman will accomplish this feat again).
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ELIZAVETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Polina had the higher technical score, but lost it in the PCS. From what I heard from people who saw it, is that it was ok that Christina gets more in the PCS, but not that much she gets. The problem was, Polina was the first skater of the competition, and we all know, that this is not the best!
Yeah skating first is never good. I remember in Courcheval when Nina scored 48 points for her clean SP with 3t-3t, even though the second 3t was UR, had she not skated first, her score likely would have been higher, as she was much better in that segment than Shelepen who had mistakes and Silete who doesn't have the best basic skating, but both girls edged her out, likely because they skated later.
Polina A is prone to URs so that may also explain why she is below Gao. Even though Christina fell, I assume her 3f was fully rotated, her jumps are always fully rotated, so with the new factoring of GOE, she would have lost a little over 2 points in GOE for falling/not doing a combo, and then the one point deduction, so that's 3 points she lost so considering Polina had a fall on a UR triple and much lower PCS, I think it makes sense that Christina would be ahead of her.
And again, Liza rocked the house!
So fantastic to see that after her first JGP ... this time she will and should really smile!
Liza just scored 115.43 in the free skate! Great job!
That's seriously a 30 point improvement from Brasov earlier this season. 30 points, just in the free skate, from one competition to the other. Can't wait to see the protocols on this.
Christina Gao, Yukiko Fujisawa, and Ira Vannut still to skate.
