seems like the competition is stiff for the ladies,
with elizaveta, polina agafonova, christina gao, felicica zhang, yretha silete, yukiko fujiasawa, kexin zhang,
yukiko and polina fighting to get in to the final, and elizavetha, christina, kexin and yretha fighting to stay in.

Anna Ovcharova may be replacing Polina Agafonova here. I've heard that if she is better by then, she will attend the last 2 GP events. But she is a strong skater as well so it really doesn't lighten the field any if she does skate here, in fact it may make it even deeper as Anna has shown us last season that when she is "on" she is tough to beat.

Personally, I really doubt Fujisawa or Agafonova will make the JGPF. There are just too many other girls who have already medaled. Sotnikova, Shelepen, Shoji, Tuktamysheva, and Gao I'd say are all shoo-ins for the final, so that leaves only 3 spots which are likely to be filled by any combination of Baga, Wang, Ovcharova, Gong, Li, Zhang.

There are some rumors... It's not for sure, but Anna may miss JGP this season

why they didnt give a second grand prix to agafanova!? she didnt make that bad in the previous gp and she medaled at worlds last year, how she wil gain experience??

I don't think they will replace Agafonova for Ovcharova either.. Yes she bombed the LP but her SP is still the 3rd best in the JGP so far and she is the reigning Jr. World bronze medalist... Maybe Ovcharova will thake Afanasyeva's place in the final event but with her injuries I think the JGP train has passed for her this year..

Because she lost a chance to qualify to the final and other girls still have it... She still may get the second spot, but only if Anna will miss JGP. And even if Anna will not compete, there's still Kristina Zaseeva who can get the second spot if she will do well in Sheffield

i just meant gao has more competition, the other events has good competition but i felt the U.s girls has a decent chance at medaling and getting into final.
gao if she messes us can go to 6th or 7th and might not make it in,
13 +3 = 16 or 13+5=18 and she would have to beat the combine score of shion with 18 points plus whoever else.
so gao has to continue skating clean with very few errors.
i expect the 3 russian girls of sotnikova, tutkatmesheva and shelelpen to get into the final with a possiblity of 3-4 u.s. girls in maybe 5 and probably 1 japanese lady.
it just seems to me this competition will weed out alot of girls from the jp final. that is all.
until yuki got put into the john curry memorial i expected the us girls to finish 2nd and 3rd with a possiblity of 4th same as czech skate. just my way of thinking is all.

I hope to see a little Chinese girl, Zijun Li, at the final too. She is lovely!

Can't wait to see what Liza will show us this time. Wish her a clean skate and hope to see her wonderful 3-3

Zazeeva bombed in Sheffield and Anna is currently out of the country getting treatment for her injury so Agafonova will be in Dresden this week!

I spoke with a friend of me, who is in Dresden.

Liza did 3Lz-3T, 3Lo and 2A. Jumps and Spins were all very good. My friend reported that she was the clear winner and that she really rocked the house!
Christina fell on her 3F. So no combo. The rest was good.
Polina landed her 3Lz-3T with a big smile but then fall on her 3Lo - which looked ur. My friend loved her spins.
