Chait / Sakhonovsky have only 5 points, from Skate Canada. The 7 points from CoR don't count because it was their non-scoring event.

Both C/S and W/L have 5 points. Both need 9 points or better to make the Final but with G/G and D/L in the competition, that is going to be tough.

De/St are already in the Final (NHK is their non-scoring event); G/G have 9 points and make the final with a 4th place or better.

If C/S (or W/L) finish 2nd and G/G finish 3rd, then DelShoes would be out and those two teams would be in.

This will be NHK's most exciting competition. So many skaters we want to see in the top six of each division and space is limited.

In Men's, with Honda out, Kevin VDP is definitely in. Nothing the NHK competitors do will endanger his spot in the Final.

Jeff Buttle needs only to finish 5th or better and he is in, too.

If Goebel finishes 1st or 2nd, he is definitely in. If he finishes 3rd, 4th or 5th, he will still be in provided the combination of Abt-Gold/Gao-silver doesn't happen.

Gao has to win gold or silver to make the final.

Abt needs to win, or finish 2nd while Gao, Joubert and Buttle all finish off the podium.

Only a day left before NHK. I made the changes of adding Kevin Van der Perren since it seems completely likely he will make and I also think that is true for Dubreuil & Lauzon in Ice Dance as well. Congrats to them!

GP Final----Surprise!

For me, the big surprise is who didn't make it. And to top it off, how low some are on the list. For instance, I never expected to see Honda, Ann-Patrice nor Victoria V. to be so low in the standings.

It's a shame that Jennifer Kirk didn't make it but she is first alternate so she can still be in the mix.

Surprising year, isn't it?

I made note of Tim's withdrawal and Sandhu being in as well as a few changes in the Final standings in Dance and Pairs due to tie breakers.
