I really love watching Paul Poirier! He creates such beautiful pictures on the ice with his wonderful posture and deep knee bends. Excellent skating skills! It doesn't hurt that he's totally gorgeous either!

I agree! She is a beautiful breath of fresh air. She reminds me of Susie Wynne.

Sarah Arnold and Justin Trojek CAN (Currently unranked)
    Coach: Paul MacIntosh, Rebecca Babb
Choreographer: Pasquale Camerlengo for the FD, unknown for the SD
Their Short Dance Program: Waltz Swinging to 3/4 time
She has a relatively simple red dress with pretty white gloves, and some white
piping trim and a small red ruffle at the hem.
He a red shirt buttoned up to the collar, white vest, black pants
Theirs a tie under the vest.
It's their debut on the GP
    crossing f/w a bit slow
reverse twizzles. he has a tad trouble but pretty good
GW. 2nd segment first The twizzle was hopped
    leglines don't always match
Shoot the duck was low enough to count
    rotational lift to end
    Crowd response rather tepid,
40.07 (not a very good score)

Stefanie Frohberg and Tim Giesen GER (ISU Ranked 54th)
    Coach: Rene Lohse
    Choreographer: Jutta Deutschland
She has a 2 tone blue kind of dirndl-y dress with lacings and a
crinoline. Black edge to the little puffy sleeves. Black ribbon
with an oval pin on her neck .He has a white shirt, black pants
    Music: Tanz der Hopfenden?
    She poses like a doll,
    and she keeps doing it
rotational lift draped limply over his arm
twizzles slow I think Level 3
    they kiss
    they waltz
    first segment first
    low shoot the duck
    Second segment
think he missed the pivot on the spread eagle
    some problem with the layback
    midline step
some failures of unison, wildness by him
a floppy rotational doll lift to end
she goes back to being a doll again
It was kind of charming, but a bit too much of an exhibiton number
And slow, as far as I can tell from IN
    43.00

Alexandra Paul and Mitchell Islam CAN (ISU Ranked 37th)
Coach: David Islam, Pavol Porac, K. Johnson, T. Myles
Choreographesr: Pavol Porac (SD),Dubreuil and Lauzon (FD)
Their short dance program: Spanish waltz/tango
He has burgundy shirt, black collar, black suspenders, black pants
she a little black dress, very asymetrical skirt, and it has
one sleeve and shoulder covered. It has a spidery web strap
    on the back.
    Music: Waltz and Tango
    Start with La Cumparsita ?
If that was a f/w sequence there was a problem
Appears to be 3 sets twizzles
GW to the tango? No kidding. first segment
She missed a step, I think
recovered by the shoot the duck
    second segment better
    back to tango explicitly
    Rotate vertically then horizontally
    F/w quite close together
Better than the last 2, but I am not super thrilled
    50.55 into first.

Rachel Tibbetts and Collin Brubaker USA (ISU Ranked 34th)
    Coach: Tiffany Dambeck
    Choreographer: Tom Dickson, Tiffany Dambeck
Their short dance program: Waltz; Hallalujah I love her so
aqua dress, top edged in black, spaghetti straps, long black gloves
She has very red hair. He has grey striped pants and vest, white business shirt.
    Wiggling to take their position.
    Starts with the GW
    Pretty good speed
They are not hitting these GW positions as crisp as the judges
    have been liking
rotational lift with changes of position
    footwork
    quickstep I think?
jump into twizzles. He messes his up. Won't be level 4.
    Good speed but very sloppy.
    Kind of pleasant though
36.88 One deduction, into last place..

    Group 2

Pernelle Carron and Lloyd Jones FRA (ISU Ranked 28th)
Coach: Muriel Zazoui, Romain Haguenauer, D. Ribas
    Choreographer: Antonio Najarro
Their short dance program: Waltz: La Valse A Mille Temps by Jacques Brel
He's in an operetta military uniform with long tails in blue
red and gold. With epaulets He has white pants. and Gwendal hair. She has a red dress with
a wide gold V belt that looks a bit like a prize for being a wrestling champion.
    Sleeveless.
She is doing ballet arms a lot. They kiss (mime)
    jump into twizzles
    not good synchro
    segment 1 gw
this is like a rap waltz
    segment 2 pretty good
lift flips onto his should and rotates
    straightline
    edges could be better
I fail to hear the beat on a lot of this
    End pose
    54.43 into 1st.

Kristina Gorshkova and Vitali Butikov RUS ( ISU Ranked 17th)
    Coach: Elena Tchaikovskaia, Ksenia Rumiantseva
    Choreographer: Elena Tchaikovskaia
Their Short Dance Program: Russian Waltz by Alexandra Pakhmutova
He's in a black coat that is totally missing the right sleeve
ANd there is an enormous white puffy sleeve there. Her dress is red trapless with long sleeves, and a white net
overskirt trim in spots. It has a keyhold in the front middle of the bodice. It's quite pretty on her, in an ice dance sort of way.
    f/w
twizzles on one foot both way to get the level. Unison off.
    rotational lift
    GW, reasonably good
    midline f/w, crossing
    51.56, into 2nd.

Madison Chock and Greg Zuerlein USA (ISU Ranked 14th)
    Coach: Igor Shpilband, Marina Zueva
    Choreographer: Igor Shpilband, Marina Zueva
Their Short Dance Programs: Milord and Padam Padam by Edith Piaf
She's in a black dress with a V neckline and mid sleeves
and a white ruffle hem and lace on the neckline.. He has grey vest, black pants, white shirt
straight line f/w crossing nice changes of direction
    lot of emoting
twizzles. he stepped out a bit on the 2nd.
    GW padam padam
    nice low shoot the duck
    he hits the pivot
    twizzle/layback a bit weak
    f/w now
rotational lift, good speed in it, a nice position change.
    They hug at the end.
Piaf does work for the waltz SD, I've got to say.
    54.19 into 2nd

Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier CAN (ISU Ranked 9th)
Coach: Carol Lane, Juris Razguliaevs, Jon Lane
    Choreographer: Carol Lane, Juris Razguliaevs
    SD Fallin' by Alicia Keys
She's in a white dress with a ragged hem and an open back
and long sleeves. Her hair is quite dreadful with something stuck in it. He has a black suit, grey vest, white shirt,
    and black bow tie.
Start immediately in a rotational lift with her head down and
    feet up
    Very fast
    into GW
She isn't low enough in the Shoot the duck.
    Timing is good
    The layback looked good.
    f/w midline close together
he had a little trip no big deal
twizzles very slow 3 sets, I think
Should score well, but the music is very repetitive.
    Crowd happy
    62.95 into first

Sinead Kerr and John Kerr GBR (ISU Ranked 3rd)
    Coach: Evgeni Platov
    Choreographer: Evgeni Platov, Robert Royston
Their Short Dance Programs: At Last by Etta James; Shut Up & Let Me Go by The Ting Tings
She has a halter neck peach dress with a ruffly mid length skirt
He has a white shirt, rolled up sleeves, black pants.
John has arms crossed, Sinead is checking her dance card
Whirled into a lift with her foot at her head
    GW
    layback OK
    optional lift into crossing twizzles.
ting ting's as quickstep (the lyrics are muted in this version.
Also no voiceover or reverse lift)
    midline nice
    Cool. Nicely done.
    62.96 into first (just)

that was soooo close. I prefer C/P. The Kerrs are very creative and inovative but I simply don't get most of tehir programs. I find their music combination very strabge.

But man that Fallin' song gets awfully repetitive.
