I will be in Japan around March, so I figure I should go and support my girl, Rachael. Is there anyway I can get single event tickets? I just want to see the ladies SP and LP.

I did my homework, and here's what I found

Tour Desk WFC TOKYO 2011
Please be advised that we only sell All-Event tickets, Preliminary tickets, Gala tickets and Full package (Preliminary, All-event tickets and Gala) in Arena SS and Stand SS.
*Domestic sales starts from Dec. 1st in Japan by domestic tickets agencies. All overseas fans who are interested in purchasing the single tickets are requested to obtain tickets in the same condition with Japanese local fans. Prescription, Lot (which is extreamly competitive), and purchase. The complicated process will be conducted in Japanese language only.

All event Ticket (including prelim & gala, 03/21-03/27)
VIP: 131k yen or $1554.89 Non-VIP: 99k yen or $1175.07
Competitive events only
VIP: 96k yen or $1139.46 Non-VIP: 74k yen or $878.34

On top of 15k yen or $178.04 processing fee.

Obviously I don't want to see everything. I won't be in Tokyo until early 03/25. Has anyone gone to the 2007 WC? How did you get your tickets?

TIA.

So I finally sorted this thing out. I contacted the concierges at American Express and at my hotel in Tokyo, asking them for help with securing some tickets to see Rachael Flatt. The hotel concierge told me they have a source for ticket scalping, and asked if I'm willing to pay over the ticket value. Amex contacted the ISU. :jaw: and  I'm speechless, but anywho, very excited. This would be the first time seeing Rachael live. If there's a skating god, please let Rachael make it to the Tokyo World.

"We received your requesting assistance with tickets to the World Figure Skating Championship, specifically for the Women Long Program on 3/26. In an effort to secure you the best options available, I have reached out to our colleagues in the Centurion Lifestyles Department in Japan for assistance in securing tickets. Our colleagues in Japan are in a much better position to locate the best options available for this event. I will continue to work closely with our colleagues and will provide you with updates as more information is made available to me. In the meantime, if you have absolutely any questions, or if there is anything else I can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to ask.

We know that the tickets will be going on sale on Saturday, January 22nd, and that tickets will be made available in several categories and price points. However, additional details are pending. I will continue to keep you updated this week as more details become clear.
Sincerely,

American Express Centurion Concierge, Ticket Specialist

That's great, FlattFan!!!!

I didn't even know you posted way back in November, I just now saw this thread, and I honestly hope everything works out for you. :)

Ah, I have to tell you seeing Rach skate L-I-V-E is something else! There's nothing like it, FlattFan, I'm still over the moon about it all. As I too saw Rachael skate for the first time live at this past Skate America. It honest to God was like a wildfire, to match her sparkly red dress (btw the skaters' costumes in person are simply breathtaking, television in no way does them justice), each time she landed a triple it just got more & more & more exciting until she landed her 7th one! WOW! I hope you get to experience the same pleasure I did, as one Rachael Flatt fan to another. :)^)

ENJOY!!!!!!!!! :hb:

The good people at Amex already promised they would deliver the tickets to my hotel per our last conversation. I'm so looking forward to it. I read your first hand experience at SA this year and I thought I should see her in person myself. This might be her last year and I want to cheer for her. :)

Go Rachael!

I'm soooo envious!!! I live in Japan, and was able to access the site one minute after the time sales started and there was no tickets left on 26th. Lucky you FlattFan! Have a great time there! :)

All right, FlattFan!

Please take a lot of pics, but most importantly please write an indepth review!, of course crossing my fingers and praying to the skate gods that Rachael is there.

p.s. don't you find it odd that janetfan isn't around anymore? I remember he couldn't stand Rachael. He was her nemesis. ;)

I paid with Amex, so a quick call and they refunded the entire amount. A quick shoutout to Amex customer service, always reliable.

Has anyone heard about tickets for Moscow yet? I've emailed the Russia Skating federation but haven't hear anything yet (I know I know they are probably super busy) but I am really keen to get tickets!
