Interesting. It's kind of like Lance Armstrong, who I believe rode on a team organized by the United States Postal Service for at least some of his years competing in the Tour de France bicycle race. You used to be able to go to the postal service website to follow his progress. Now, if we could just get these companies to sponsor classical music in the classrooms...!
From a Chinese translation of an after practice interview, Daisuke expressed uncertainty about his 4T. He has been practicing 4T, intending to perform it, but since it's inconsistent, he may do a 4F instead.
I wrote about the advantages of his doing 4F in the Base Value thread.
I'm going to try to teach myself Japanese this holiday season since I'm already familiar with the Kanji part. Let's see how I'll do and if I would be able to understand all these Japanese skating news "soon".![]()

Will she make the team????
The guyz are clear, THE BIG THREE!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting article but no one at Japanese nationals is equal to Kim Yu-Na in Vancouver! Kim's big victory there was also because of the free skate with Mao popping that triple toe and ur-ing a jump. Mao's short was not the problem. She absolutely maxed out her score there withouth doing a 3/3 like Kim did.
Hi Skatefiguring:I'm going to try to teach myself Japanese this holiday season since I'm already familiar with the Kanji part. Let's see how I'll do and if I would be able to understand all these Japanese skating news "soon".
I am always impressed with your knowledge of skating, but in this respect I may be able to help you!
I am completely bilingual between Japanese/English, as a matter of fact, Japanese is my mother tongue.
Here's some video of official practice.

As a big Takahashi fan, I am little concerned that his quad is not stable. However as Honda said in this video, " Quad is a key element. but it is also very important to skate well after skaters fail on quad." Ganbere
Daisuke, Go for it!!
I will be watching it trough key hope tv. So excited already.
It's so great to have forum members with so many different languages. I feel we get information that no one else gets, because all of you can tell us about reports and other information right from the original sources in Japan, Russia, Finland, and the other skating countries. Genki, I hope you'll be able to report on the competition for us! I don't know about the rest of us, but I certainly will have no way of watching it before YouTube excerpts are posted.
Hi Olympia
I am not in Japan. I live in US. So just like you, I am heavily dependent on Youtube.
However, if you download keyhole tv, you can watch it a bit earlier than you tube. However the quality is terrible.
I will be watching guys short this morning starting from 3 am pacific time.
BTW, there are people who upload video to you-tube almost live, so you can see it very very soon too. Go to go to bed now.
genki, I believe Key Hole won't be broadcasting live. I think I'm supposed to get it at 5 AM ET.
We better make sure.
Fuji TV schedule: 19:00 Local Time.
