I want Akiko to go to the worlds as well! She is the number 2 skater in the world and she is one of the best! Her SS are beyond Kanako's!

Well, it could be explained. Mao ,in the best scenario, had 4 clean triples: two 3F, one 3A and one 3L. Her 3Lz was definitely a Flutz. We must wait to see if it was even rotated. Plus, she had no 3 jumps combo. Miki on the other hand had 6 clean triples, a 2A-3T, two clean Lz. Plus, I bet her Goe on the jumps were huge. If we take intro consideration that the base value for the 3F was lowered, here is the difference in TES

Congrats to Miki! It's her third national title, but she hasn't won Nationals since the 2004-2005 season. And since then she was OTP twice (2005-06 and 2009-2010) so it's nice to see her in good form this year.

Okay so here's the criteria:
top 3 at nationals: miki, mao and kanako
top 3 gpf: kankano, akiko and miki
top 3 world ranking: akiko, miki and mao

It's likely top 3 nats for worlds, but if you compiled the criteria using weight on the criteria:

nats: 15 13 11 9
gpf: 13 11 9 7
rank: 11 9 7 5

miki:33
aikiko: 31
kanako: 29
mao:27

of course this is for fun and I expect that top 3 nats will go, but that's how I'd work the criteria.

At the GPF Miki and Kanako were almost tied in PCS. Now Miki is 6 points ahead of her. But it's nationals, it's their own game

I've watched Mao's performance. It's not perfect, 3A is probably UR, flutz, doubled salcow, no 3 combo, and slow compared to Kanako, but totally beautifull program! Conratulations, Mao

Q: How do you think about your performance?

A: Totally bad...I could not succeed the Quads throughout this competition. In FP, I had no speed and could not pay attention to the transition. It's regrettable not to win the title. I try to do my best performances at the next competition.

Hanyu:

A: I was too eager to do more, and it backfired. It caused strain and I lost the timing for the jumps.

people always write off Mao because of her bad season start, we are talking about the girl with disaster Gp last season that ended being World Champion and Olympic Silver medalist!
I m so excited for both her programs!
I really like Kanako A LOT, but she is still very young and I wish they announced Akiko for Worlds, because she had a good season so far and she is so great to watch, I dont get why judges dont see this in her pcs.
I also watched men, Kozuka Takahashi´s program was so moving, I have my parents visiting here and my dad sit down and watched him
And Hanyu´s fall on 3axel was very strange I read a Plushy interview this morning and he picks Hanyu from the youngsters

- I practiced with Yuzuru together in the summer. He landed very beautiful quads. He is a very good skater.... He's very good. And young. He is only fifteen years old now, three to four years later, he will reach great time as a competitor. I feel he will be more great skater, by 2014 Olympics.
