^ Her best program was her Fosse exhibition, IMHO

Was that the one in the black catsuit? I agree that it was Hughes's best program. I don't begrudge her the OGM, but she wasn't a skater I could watch endlessly. or who ever took my breath away the way Michelle did most of the time and Sasha often did. I don't ever watch a competition and say, "Gee, I wish we were back in the days of Sarah Hughes." On the other hand, I'm delighted at how accomplished she is in terms of educational efforts, and I think her skating career will be just a fast first act in a very impressive life.

I agree with Seniorita. It's OK for athletes to pop off. But coaches are supposed to say things like, "our opponent is a great team, we will have to be at our best to win."

And league presidents are supposed to say, "This is one of the greatest match-ups in history. Don't forget to watch and buy all of the sponsors' products!"

So, Mathman, do you have a jar of Smucker's jelly in your fridge? I have personally never bought a Smart Ones entrée.

^ With a name like Smucker's it has to be good. (Did you know that the character of Peggy on Mad Men is supposedly inspired by the real ad lady who came up with that slogan?)

Kristi made me buy a Smart Ones pizza once, she made it look so good in an ad.

Just jumping in to add info. about the Princely Family of Monaco, as I am a follower of them (have been since I was a kid; Princess Caroline is one of my idols).

The entire family is greatly involved in the Olympics, especially on their mother's side (i.e. the late Princess Grace). Grace's father was a 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist in Rowing. And Prince Albert's fiancee, whom he is planning to wed next July (it ties in with the Olympics btw; many Olympians will be there) is also a former Olympian. In fact that is where they met ~ at the Olympics ~ when both were competing; he in bobsled, she in swimming. :)

And Princess Caroline's daughter, Princess Alexandra, is heavily involved in skating. She has even won some local competitions. Also, her gorgeous elder daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, is an equestrienne. If all goes well she should be an Olympian in 2012.

Princess Stephanie's daughter is also heavily involved in swimming; I'm hoping she makes it to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London!

Gotta go, Ladies SP is starting now!!!!!!

More info please. I'm more curious about the month than the year of the Olympics they both competed and met at!

Sorry almost a month late in responding to your post, SkateFiguring, as I've been busy, but alas I didn't forget. :)

Lol, as you may have noticed, I confused the dates when they first met because of course they couldn't have met at the same Olympics. Prince Albert competed in 5 Winter Olympiads, whereas his fiancee Charlene Wittstock is strictly a Summer Olympian. :D

Anyhow, they first met in the year 2000, that's when Charlene traveled to Monaco for a swimming competition (prior to the 2000 Summer Olympics where she & the South African Swimming Team placed 5th), and then she accompanied Prince Albert to the 2006 Winter Olympics, as well as the 2008 Summer Olympics, and the 2010 Winter Olympics, as Prince Albert has been a member of the International Olympic Committee since 1985.

The following are some links & pictures regarding the Princely Family of Monaco and their involvement in sports, the Olympics, ice skating, et al, ENJOY!:
