Guan/Wang
“The Sands of Time” from The Prince of Persia
Love the opening pose. Unusual attitude position in opening set of twizzles, she wobbles a bit. She’s got a diva-vibe going on that I rather enjoy. The music isn’t all that great, though.

American pairs teams in the audience watching. Rockne's a bit of a ham. Amanda is gorgeous.
O'Brien/Merriman, AUS: 35.72 TES + 26.30 PCS = 62.02 Total: 104.69
They're really bouncy on the ice and don't have a lot of deep knees or edges, she steps down early in the twizzles, unique stationary lift
Borounov/Borounov, AUS: 24.66 TES + 19.05 PCS = 43.71 Total: 72.23
Bent legs, came down early from the twizzles, she's hunched in the holds, not a lot of basic technique
Guan/Wang, CHN: 35.10 TES + 28.39 PCS = 63.49 Total: 106.26
She has some nice extension, they're very stiff with their hands which cuts off the line of the arm, some good lifts
Bruhns/Westenberger, MEX: 24.95 TES + 22.92 PCS = 47.87 Total: 88.55
Way off unison on the twizzles, could work on legs and arms in step sequences, some interesting moves, get into the performance toward the end of the program
Dylan's with the American pairs, all are loudly whooping and hollering for C/Z.
Paul seemed nervous throughout C/P's program, but they sold it - they were more expressive than they've been this season - Vanessa has clearly been working hard on that. The audience was quite enthusiastic, which was awesome.
90.17 for them. They'll likely miss the podium, but we have to see what W/P and the Shibs bring.
Not a fan of this C/P program but they skated it well. Still lots of room above it for W/P and Shibs though.
The Worlds scenario for dance is coming more into play. Davis & White and Virtue & Moir clearly fighting for gold again. Pechalat & Bourzat with a lock on the bronze barring a huge mistake (or a huge mistake by one of the top 2 NA teams above them). Then a big battle for 4th-10th places between the top 2 Russian teams, Shibutanis, the 2nd and 3rd Canadian teams, Kerrs, Faiella & Scali.
Chock/Zuerlein, USA: 44.15 TES + 41.15 PCS = 85.30 Total: 142.44
Solid program, beautifully choreographed, great performance from both of them
Crone/Poirier, CAN: 47.27 TES + 42.90 PCS = 90.17 Total: 151.83
Still not in love with it but best I've seen this program, some nice lifts and good twizzles
Huang/Zheng, CHN: 40.01 TES + 37.35 PCS = 77.36 Total: 130.29
She doesn't really fully straighten her leg, good twizzles, good lifts, interesting music editing
Yu/Wang, CHN: 40.92 TES + 34.25 PCS = 75.17 Total: 125.75
Good lines and extension for her, nice lifts, great use of the upper body, looked a little tired by the end of the program
Thanks for descriptions and comments; I cannot get a visual.
Dodhiyel, icemusings has a blog where he (she?) goes further in details.. I stopped because it's clearly better to what I was doing.
Thanks ImaginaryPogue! I'm a sheIf you have any comments I'd love any feedback!
The gap between Crone/Poirier & Chock/Zuerlein was 15.37 at Skate Canada and its only 9.39 at here. Did C/Z get better or did C/P get worse?
