    Ulrich had good edges and a certain style about his skating, and that was 1911!

    He got the jump name after him. Why not change the Loop Jump to the Rittenberger, and the Toe Loop to the Mapes, and the Inside Axel to the Boekel?

    btw, outside English-speaking countries it's already called Rittberger, though I think that now the term Loop is becoming quite common also here (maybe because of CoP abbreviations?)

    That would be slightly confusing for Mapes, since he invented two jumps.

    Love this little slice of life from a bygone era. Pretty dangerous, sledding with skirts--wouldn't want them to get caught in the runners!
