Will Russian skaters succeed at home? (I'm wondering why the article acknowledged the experienced Japanese, French, and US men, but no mention of Canadians? Have they put Canadians in the category of US?:rolleye:)

No, because Canadian men are not experienced like the Americans. :) Or, it seems, Canadian men don't exist as far as Russians are concerned.

Yeah, US skaters are so experienced with Bradley, Dornbush, and Miner attending Worlds this time! Looks like the views are certainly different from the other side of the globe.

It's not the view from the other side of globe, it's just the view of certain incompetent journalist.

Well, I certainly wish they all forget about Chan. The reigning World champion Takahashi, the newly crowned European champion Amodio, the most technically packed Bradley, the most experienced Oda and Joubert, and Kozuka, and Verner, and Gachinsky, and Dornbush, and Miner, and ... Isn't that great for the dark-horse Chan?

No worry there. They invented a new ice for his knees.

Like the speedos in swimming, the new technology will creat the new records in figure skating?:)

Do we have post Olympic drought? I don't feel it. It's so exciting! More exciting than in 2010 Olympic year.

evil russians will make a trabolino ice by Sochi, he would jump on one side of the rink and land on the other
You seem to share the same worries as Chan about Plushy knees. Cute:)

I'm not aware of Chan's feelings for Plushy's knees. So do tell.

Actually I'm concerned for all quad jumpers, many of whom have paid too heavy a price with their bodies and sometimes with a shortened career. I'm worried for the foolhardly training some of them adopt instead of doing it smart.

It has been said a quintuple jump is physically impossible but with new technology, who knows? In skating, besides the skaters' bodies, there are multiple areas -ice, skates, and clothes, to work on. It's hard to tell what the future may bring.
