I dont know if to laugh or to cry while looking at Chan's GOEs for his spins... Talk about a +GOE party..

Daisuke's PCS were insanely low..

Other than that the scoring seemed fair enough.

If Plushenko were here, I believe he'd be in the second, and possibly win a gold tomorrow.

Plushenko was there and they showed him several times.
But he is $u$pended :)

Only score that bothered me was Joubert who seemed overscored.

Gachinsky got the typical hometown boost once again making Mishin look good by score but not as much by what we saw on the ice.

Probably should mention that Chan's score is a new record by 2 points. It broke Plushy's 91.30 score from the 2010 Europeans.

Which was 91.30 on 8 elements whereas today was 93.02 on 7 elements. Had a 2nd Step Sequence being allowed, you could add up another 6 points or so to the total, based on a Level 4 Step Sequence.

For a while now I've been flummoxed by the edge calls. Daisuke always had a pristine flip, on the other hand, I've never seen him do a real 3lutz, and this SP is no exception. Going frame by frame on my video, he clearly switches edges a few beats before the pick (this is clearly visible even viewed at normal speeds, which is what the tech callers use). And yet his lutz is left alone and his flip gets an edge call? This has been happening with a lot of skaters lately (Mirai Nagasu is another crazy example of a flutzer who suddenly gets e calls on flips but not lutzes). It seems the tech callers are looking for the correct edge at a different time than around the pick in.

My main hope is that Bradley and/or Dornbush can get into the top 10. I'm not even American, but Canadian, I just want to see those guys prove the naysayers wrong and show that they were legitimate entries for the world championships (which I think they have anyway IMO, even with just top 15 finishes, Miner too).

Definitely confused by the edge calls, too. I saw some flips that maybe deserved "!" but not an "e". BTW, did they get rid of the "!" mark?

I'm very happy for Florent and I hope he will do his best tomorrow to get the bronze medal. This website only flatters north american figure skaters. Who, to be honest, are not so great.

HA HA HA!!!!!!! Given that most people are cheering for Dai, this comment is off base.

The judges pretty much hand him Mr.Dead-eyes the gold already. Unless he kiss the ice 4-5 times (which prob not going to happen) no one can catch him. The GOE are, as always over generously awarded. 7 elements vs 8 last year, but the added BV on the quad kinda cancel each other out so score is reasonable.
I though Dai got low ball on the PCS. Same with Oda/Kazu.

I'm very sorry that I didn't see your post before I posted my last one. I should pay extra effort to make what you say seemed true, shouldn't I?;)

Hello all, I'm posting here for the first time.
I am really puzzled by the edge call on Takahashi's 3F.
The tech specialist for Mens Single is Pirjo UIMONEN. She's the same tech specialist who gave edge calls to Takahashi's perfect 3Lz twice at the Olympics.
Is it just a coincidence?
