Interesting that Abbott's score would have only put him 9th at Worlds.

Interesting that Abbott's score would have only put him 9th at Worlds.

But he never skated on the Worlds ice, which saw 6 skaters did their best quads, including the only successful one from Kozuka, which was the 2nd best at Worlds after Joubert's, who also hadn't had great success with his quads this season. See Quads Of The Season Thread I updated.

That is a totally unfair comparison. If you use Kozuka's 4CC score, he'll be put in 9th at the worlds as well.

Thanks to SkateFiguring, as always!

Yeah, but Kozuka had skated better before in the season. Jeremy at 4CC was the best he'd skated all season and it still wasn't great. Jeremy had been having problems with his jumps and spins all season. I don't get why so many people were saying he would have medaled at Worlds if he had been there.

I must have missed it. I don't remember anyone saying he would have medaled at Worlds this time. I think some were saying that Abbott would have skated better than any of the three Americans at the Worlds.

By the way, with the same logic, Rippon's highest score of the season (at SC) would have put him in 5th at the Worlds.;)

Abbott had boot problems all season. He also thought holding back would allow him to peak after the Nationals this time. Miscalculation. Yeah, he's inconsistent but a beautiful skater and when he's at his best, amazing. Just doesn't happen enough, and not at the biggest event. Sigh. I love me the high PCS guys. Not all of them bring it for the TES though.

I have a feeling next season will be a good one for him.

ETA. I give up. I already retyped this 3 times in Cap. Maybe I'll try later for better presentation.

What about 4cc? Or is that coming later?

I think Nena as just a big stunned that Jeremy was so low on this list. I was too. I knew he had a bad season but only the 25th best score of the season? Sheesh. What happened? :(

I don't think he intentionally held back THAT much. I think he did want to make the GFP final, for one thing. But his boot problems probably did hold him back quite a bit and maybe he just more trouble focusing then he realized in a post-Olympics season. I hope next season is better. It'd be heartbreaking to see him keep going downhill.

How the heck are Suzuki, Korpi and Leonova ahead of Czisny? Czisny won SC and the GP final and finished 5th at Worlds and she's behind Suzuki?

They all attended a lot of ISU B comps.
I think if the ISU stops giving points to BOTH the GPs and international Bs and only pick 2 highest scores, the ranking will be much fairer. But this has already been discussed a zillion times. A little sigh to be exhaled.

Thanks for catching the Miki miss. With the computer rebooted, I finally got the data and the cap in. (Somehow it bugged me to see the abbreviations in lower case.)

ISU World ranking of Ladies with Kostner on top.

Men. Takahashi still number 1. I think Chan skipping 4CC hurts his ranking.

Pairs S/S first. Sui/Han rising amazingly fast. Number 7 Y/C of US is no more.

Ice Dance. Meryl and Charlie are the Queen and King here. Not competing for the whole season drops Tessa and Scott to number 4.

The most incredulous part is Kozuka at #7 for Men, after Brezina.
