Sasha is injured from training and will miss the Beijing show.

Shen/Zhao is doing choreography for group numbers. They had their wedding on this show last year, and now they will portray a couple's quarrel in one of their performances. :laugh:

There is a table for a prop and they get bruised in their practice.

Shen said at one time they would have been happy to just to pick up flowers from the ice in a championship. They are bringing in young Chinese skaters Zijun Li as well as Shui/Han in part to give them the opportunities to watch and learn from the champions.

Who will be going and bringing us reports and videos?

I'll go to the two shows in Beijing

the Shanghai show will be broadcast on local TV,time not comfirmed yet~

SZ may not perform next year,(they want to have a baby XD)and they would like to go backstadge,this time,all the group number are choreographed by them~
Patrick said his weibo on sina.com is real,and he still doesn't know how to write in chinese very well now,it's translated by his friends from Toronto,and he's very happy to see so many people followed him.

ArOI hold a press conference yesterday,there are many news today.
apparently,Johnny Weir is the biggest star who got almost all the attention from the media.he's much more famous than Yagudin and other big names in figure skating in China...
Johnny said he's tired with ladygaga,but he'll perform bad romance this time,cause all the people request that.he also said something over like he always did (He said his costumes are "prostitute wear with lots of sparkles" ,wow)

well,I think Chan's Fan Page may be updated by his costume designer TU_LY,he loves fashion and Johnny very much.

Johnny said he's not familiar with other cast members at all.and he laugh at Yagudin is so fat,and look down Chan when he talked with his fans,I don't think they are friends.

Tu Ly doesn't manage any of Patrick's sites. He travels with Patrick to shows, takes pictures and tweets. On this trip Patrick will likely debut the new costume for the new show program Moondance so Ly will be showing off its photos. He has recently designed for Pang/Tong as well. I'm guessing he supplies Patrick's costumes for free and for publicity. Patrick retweets sometimes and shows Ly's pictures.

Patrick has shown backstage photos of Joubert, Verner, and now Weir, without himself in them. I always think it's nice of him to do that for the fans. Of course there are photos of himself with other skaters.

In this photo, Johnny definitely is not associating with the boys. He is using Jeff as a prop for his posing.

LuCN, I don't think anybody has any problem with your English so please post and show pics and videos.

just come back from the 1st show

It's a GREAT show,very entertainment！:rollin: the stadium is 80% full (they didn't sell the four corner's tickets so I don't count)

Surprisely Vladimir Besedin/Oleksiy Plishchuk got the BIGGEST response from the audience :eek:

just like Fiona Zaldua ＆ Dmitry Sukhanov got on Art on Ice Shanghai... along with Johnny's Bad Romance.The audience cheered weirdly even when they did a little move,wow~They somehow overshined other figure skating star tonight...

Yagudin,SZ,Jeff and Rochette also got loud ovations.Yagudin skate to Overcome instead of Luna,so impressive many fans nearly cried TAT

SZ's two new pros is intersting and beautiful,let wait for the videos.

SkateFiguring,I think you may want to know more about Patrick,so it's for you:
Patrick skated his new EX (with a mop) and Don't worry be happy.
I must say,his skating is so perfect,much better than all the other stars...he can move once and the speed is quicker and the length is longer than other superstars.really great to watch in person.
in the new number,he dances with a mop at the beginning and end like a lover LOL the number is something the same mood as Don't worry be happy and take five,very suit him,intersting and cute.
but I must say,he is still boyish feeling,he has everything need to be a showman,good skating skills,lyrical,dancing ability,open mind,handsome looking...but he's lack of "charming" now.compare to Jeff and Yagudin,he has a long way to go...I really hope he can improve this side.maybe he should attend more shows to know how to make audience crazy and how to comunicate with them.he has the gift,I think.(hope he can learn some from Kurt and Lambiel on ATSS)
and he jumped a lot in the programs,all good,also land a triple axel successfully.

Patrick is just 20, so he'll grow out of the boyishness. Also, he's no star in China compared to the others, who have the long established fan bases.

Patrick is doing shows with the veteran showmen so he will learn. I bring this up as a segue to my "close encounter" with Yagudin many years ago. I went to the Stars On Ice in Montreal mainly to see him and Kurt Browning. I was a bit late to get the best seats for me and my daughter but I spotted a little empty patch of great seats so we "upgraded" during the break. I didn't take the first row and acted like we belonged there so we didn't get chased off like the other squaters. There I was sitting next to the entrance/exit into the arena. Suddenly Yagudin walked in in his sneakers and stood right next to me in this entrance tunnel, just a little below after the rail and wall. I could reach and touch him(!) although of course I didn't. My daughter had never seen me so excited! He stayed there to watch Todd Eldredge's number and applauded at the end. Todd earned respect from me that night as transferred from Yag.

That was an awesome memory for me.

In the finale, I see that Johnny has come away with the most toys. But it seems obvious that the videographer is in love with Alexei Yagudin. Looks like it was a fun show.

I think many of Johnny's fans are not skating fans or knowledgeable about skating. He is a very trendy personality and a big name, an entertainer in the vein of Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert, all of whom of course are Madona inspired.

in china,he's promoted as "Lady Gaga on Ice",so you know.they look him as Vladimir Besedin/Oleksiy Plishchuk, a funny and over the top entertainer on ice,not a sportsman.

in china,there aren't many figure skating fans,the main audience love the "funny,fast,popsong" numbers much better.Johnny's first number also not get that big response.It's the reality here now. the most popular number is the joker and funny-version-swanlake ╮(╯_╰)╭

Johnny got loud cheers from the fans and audience for Bad Romance

but many of the stars also got tons of toys,they just didn't carry them by themselves.

Johnny is a very kind person to his fans,he always carried the toys and flowers by himself to make his die-heart fans happy.I admire him

yeah,he's still young.I hope he can become a showman.His skating skill is really so comfortable to watch!He's so light and relax on the ice,floating from one side to the other so quickly...watching him just skating like breath in the fresh spring wind~~and all his jumps,spins,tricks are with the music.hope he can improve his charisma and contract with the audience more.

and the common audience always love a faster,pop,powerful music and pros.I think it's time for Patrick to try something new,something unlike Don't worry be happy,take five and moondance.a more passionate,powerful,mature one.hope to see it soon

What a beautiful description of a skater, LuCN. Any skater would be happy to be described this way.

And I am sure Patrick will evolve as a performer; he has only to watch some of the skaters in this show who know how to grab the audience's attention.

Patrick can't even do a romantic number straight yet.

Instead he's doing them with humour. At least it's a start.

Most male skaters his age are just beginning to get noticed in the senior rank but Patrick's already a veteran and a world champion. It's easy to forget how young he is.

He's tight with Kurt and admires Kurt's showmanship so he will learn. He's always adding nueances with his skating, always working to improve everything incrementally. (Or in big leaps like the quads. :biggrin:

) Even Kurt really hit his stride in artistry and showmanship after his competitive career. Patrick has a lot of time, if he wants to stay.

Actually I love his new number. He's not slacking at all and really shows off his awesome skills. I enjoy it. Jeff is doing lyrical classical style. But the audience like him, right?

BTW, maybe Patrick should team up with Shae Lynn so they can ditch their respective dance partners, the mop and the chair! After all Shae Lynn has promised to teach him how to dance.
