Recently I viewed my "Magic Memories on Ice" videotape (which surprisingly is still playing) which included Brian Boitano's extraordinary skate to "Water Fountain" on a glacier in Alaska. This was part of one of his television specials. Brian said he was so touched by the physical beauty of the area that he was in near tears throughout his performance.
One of the highlights was Brian's skating a single axle/double axel/triple axel in rapid succession.
When he finished skating, he just stood there, soaking up the atmosphere. Then, he let loose and strutted around the glacier, kicking ice chips in his way.
I can't imagine the thrill of skating on a glacier.
