Han Yan looking to become China’s next skating star
As far as I know, he is now keeping working on his 3A and Quads. He even tried 4F. Of course he failed and that was just a try. But one thing I want to stress is that he has problems with his bones. He broke his legs several times during these years' training, sometimes even one time a year. Hope he can get better coaches and choreographers.
His coach is Jia Shuguang. I personally don't konw her and I never met her. But according to some athletes in Chinese National Team which I'm familiar with, Jia is a pretty good coach. In the team, the best coach for men single skating is probably Gao Haijun - the coach of Li Chengjiang. There is possibility that Yan could get a world-class choreographer, only if he is good enough. During season 2009-2010, Chinese single skaters Wu Jialiang and Liu Yan's programs are choreographed by David Wilson.Do you happen to know who the coach is? She seems to be nice... according to some fans, Han Yan is a very shy kind of guy and gets some moral support from his coach.
As we cannot see any possibility for him to leave China in the near future, I really hope his coaching system/choreography works well for him.
I just happen to be a Chinese figure skating fan.Thank you, enderstar. You sound very knowledgeable.
Unfortunately, I have never seen other Chinese men skate except Nan Song but I hope China has a better chance with promising young skaters.
Very cute Han Yan in 2009. Fast and fearless despite the jump mistake.

75.76 for TES!
Actually, I was thinking Yan Han vs. Jason BrownCongratulation to Han Yan, he is one of my favorite skaters.
If he is able to land 3A and quad consistently, he will be unbeatable as his other aspect of skating is already excellent. He has great skating skills, transition and musicality.
I can't wait for Han Yan vs. Hanyu at 2018 olympic (I'm a bit worry whether Yuzuru will be able to become top two skaters by that time though ).
