But that would only affect Worlds and 4CC eligibility, as long as Sui turned 14 (not 15) by this past July 1st, then she would be old enough to compete on the senior GP series this season. Remember that the rules to compete on the GP are different than that of Worlds and 4CC, so to me, even if they are admitting to lying about her age, this decision is puzzling. I mean unless she's still 13/turned 14 after July 1st, in which case it would make sense, but I thought the suspected age difference of Sui was only a year or so, and according to her ISU bio, she turned 16 in early July, so she should be ok for the GP. Unless I am missing something?
A junior pair can compete at senior GP but that's a kind of extracurricular activity. As long as S/H (presumably) have no chance to compete at senior worlds and are expected to compete at Jr worlds again, their main field should be JGP.

^ Wow! ISU has a Youtube channel, where you can watch the programs?! Great! Will they do this for all the JGP events?
That is terrific, I hope we'll get to see the other events too.

Meiyi LI / Bo JIANG got no points for their lift and death spiral. Does anyone know why? I watched their program on Youtube, and it seemed clean, but I'm no expert on the rules. Their double twist and throw triple loop were strong, though...
I can see why they godt their pairs spin invalidated (free foot down).

That required lutz for the junior ladies this year looks like it's going to be the critical separator of podium finishers from also-rans. Kudos to the Russian Polinas, who landed 2 of only 4 fully-rotated, non-edge called lutzes in the SP. Siraj and Kato the other two, but with more - GOE.
In Men's SP, what happened to Nam Nguyen and Emmanuel Savary? Thought they would be closer to the front of the pack, haven't had chance to see protocols or videos and I can see ES had 2 falls, but this doesn't seem characteristic.![]()

I don't know Savary at all but it seems both he and Nguyen are two very young skaters making their international debuts. So much has to be experienced and learned. Nam's video is up though he was last to skate - his TES BV (26.20)is not high and he botched the first jump, got a >> (thus the low BV) and fell on a spin, all very uncharacteristic. Hopefully he will get his nerves in good order for LP.
Interesting that both Chinese skaters received much higher PCS than the field whereas 2nd place Hino has the highest TES but pretty low PCS.
I have expected Zijun to do well after seeing video of her LP from a show. Beautiful and impressive.

Her head wasn't lower than her skating knee in the death spiral (new rule), so that's probably why the death spiral was invalidated. The lift had a funky landing, but I don't know exactly what rule it violated. It's a shame. That was actually a nice program, and they skated pretty well except for some small mistakes from sloppiness. Probably it's nervousness from competing internationally the first time. I've never heard of them before.
Yu/Jin look a lot more polished and improved from last year. I think they can take silver if they skate well in the FS.
I am very impress with the Chinese skaters in all disciplines competed today. Looks like they are trying to take Jr's by storm. I really impress by how artistic the Men were. Really paying attention to the music and playing with the character of it also.
shine and enlight, what I find interesting is that after Lu Chen, China's skaters, Men and Pairs, were disadvantaged in the performance aspect, and it took years for Shen/Zhao to excell in artistry while their senior Men have not advanced in that area. Now suddenly we have Han Yan, Zijun Li, Jin Boyang and so many junior Men who have great skating skills and flair which are internationally noticed. What a leap. So far Chinese skaters have won 3 SP in this JGP. This bodes very well for the future of skating in and from China, which can only be good for the sport in general. Can you imagine skaters having Rock Star experriences in China like in Korea and Japan? Such huge market.
