This girl had magnetism to burn. I don't know how we lost her from skating. Her brother Johnnie probably didn't grow into the partner he should have been, and he had injuries that I think forced him out of skating. She tried skating with Bert Cording for awhile. Then she switched to ice dancing for a bit. But she was always amazing on the ice, and I regret that she didn't have the kind of career she deserved. Anyone know anything about her?

Normally I don't expect anything from a skater this young, because we all know what could happen before the skater matures physically and mentally, but this girl had something you don't age out of. This is one of my few really intense "I wish" skaters.

Ward has always been such an amazing talent. The fact that he was never able to really bring it in competition was so disappointing. I hope he continues working as a choreographer for years to come, because I love his work.

A lot of my favorites on here! I can't think of anyone else except for Sasha Abt. He competed when Yagudin and Plushenko did and was consequently overshadowed. In certain aspects of his skating, such as his deep edging and knees and overall skating quality, Sasha topped both IMO. He was also a great jumper but was inconsistent in landing them cleanly, (particularly his quads) and unfortunately, he was hampered with illnesses and injuries throughout his career. The highest he placed at Worlds was 4th.

Oh, man, Annenko and Sretenski! They had a nice little pro career, especially at the Landover Pro competition as I recall. The husband of my late skating friend used to call Annenko "the Goddess," and when I think of this team, I always remember with both happiness and sadness how much fun it was to call them up after a Saturday TV broadcast and hash over the skaters' programs. We would generally give the Goddess and her partner a generous evaluation, though my friend was very perceptive about the small elements of everyone's performance. She'd have thrived as a CoP fan, but alas, she never got a chance to be one. I'm afraid she'd be spending a lot of time educating me.

I loved this ice dance team, particularly as the pros. They were elegant, lyrical, and beautiful to watch. I particularly liked their Thanksgiving (by George Winton) and Summertime. Their waltz skated to Nat King Cole's 'Unforgettable' was just that.
