That is a sizeable lead by Han Yan despite a fall and a 1 1/2 minute break during the program.

Well, the fall was on a fully rotated triple axel, so he still scored way more than he would have on a clean double. Also, he got lots and lots of +GOE, particularly on his awesome combo (one +3 and the rest +2s!). The 1 and a half minute break shouldn't have affected the scoring because his music had stopped completely for a little bit. In fact, it's quite admirable that he was not nervous about it at all.

His music stopped right before the combo jump. Good thing they let him reset up instead of having him start at exactly where he stopped. He is a quality skater and this is a good experience.

I have to say, some of the cuts in his SP are quite bad...like during the camel spin, they don't fit together! I love him otherwise.

A blowout by Sinitsina & Zhiganshin, but also a really, really nice showing by Aldridge & Eaton here.
They are ahead of the winners at JGP Latvia & JGP Brisbane, and have topped their season's best by nearly 10 points
Nosulia & Kholoniuk and Orford and Williams both skated well, and had season's bests for themselves as well, but not up to A&E. You should definitely check out the videos of the top 4 teams here. The difference was that N&K only managed a level 1 in the footwork, and O&W managed to get level 4 on both Chacha sequences but had an error on a non scored step in one of them. But more importantly, A&E won the PCS over them as well.

I liked a lot the team from Germany, I've never seen them on JGP before. It will be a dog fight for silver tomorrow. If A&E get it they would still be behind Nosulia & Kholoniuk and Orford&Williams overall right? Assuming the latter two take third and fourth place. The team with a first and fourth place overall would win on the tiebreaker because A&E would have a second and a third place. Do they have any chance to reach the final?

Fedorova/Miroshkin have more choreography than the rest of the teams in their warm up group combined. They're also the first to use the music really well, IMO. Fun team to watch and I'll look forward to seeing them develop. Deserved score.

On the other hand, a real meltdown for the Canadians. Good skaters, but IMO, she's just too tall for him.

I looooved Fedorova/Miroshkin!! How old is she? She needs to grow up a bit, they look a bit awkward together but boy, they know how to skate to the music. Who is their coach?

They are from Nina Mozer's group. She is 13 (birthdate is 12/20/97) and he is 17 (5/22/94). So they are young and have a lot of time to develop!

Yu/Jin had an excellent technical skate aside from her fall, but skated right through the bombastic Requiem for a Dream. Her death spiral position is absolutely hideous. I though ththey were overmarked in PCS.

Petaykina/Kurdyukov were solid, and had a nice program. Her fall in the loop throw was so awkward looking. They're another team with not a lot of height differential.

Haven't watched the last two yet. Overall it seems like a well skated event.

Sui/han with a new PB and a clean 4Tw - very impressive skate - but the lack of unison and sloppiness, are for me personally still very glaring and distracting.

Oh, I adore these kids! Lina is such a star, so tiny but so charismatic! Their coaches and choreographers did a great job, it's not easy to make a good programm for a couple with height difference like theirs, but this LP is brilliant!

I liked S/H today very much, nice programm and impressive elements, but please, please, anybody, explain the girl what the edges are for! She is not skating at all, only running.

LS, will they be in Tallinn? They certainly deserve a second assignment! It's unfortunate that they didn't compete in Latvia or Poland where the field was a lot weaker.

I'm sure they will, they are listed to compete, their debut in Austria was impressive and only Krutskikh/Morozov who were only 6th in Riga with much lower scores are listed as alternates

I'm baffled why they haven't taught her decent basic skating skills because the Chinese singles have improved a lot.

Interesting that Fedorova/Miroshkin would have won silver had they competed in Poland. They're certainly promising but the height difference is a little distracting for me. I'll wait for that to become less glaring before I become a fan.
