I want to share something just a little bit off topic with you. I've just watched a documentary about Chopin Ballad No 1. The documentary is called "Chopin Saved My Life". In this documentary, there is a girl from Sendai called Momoka. She talks about her experience of 311 and how she feels about Ballad No 1. I think Yuzu might wants to express similar feelings through his new SP to us. Here is a rough translation of part of what Momoka has said:

Around 24:17
If there are lyrics to Ballad No 1, I think it's called the "cry of the soul". When I listen to it after the earthquake, just like what I've said before, I feel the souls travel back to the past and cry for help. It seems to me that that's the message the deceased has been saying to me. What Chopin wants to tell us is that for some reason he feels bitter. He did his best to write this song even when he is painful. I can feel his passion.

Around 35:13
I love Chopin Ballad No 1. I can receive energy from Chopin when I play his songs. I can feel sensation and courage in which I wasn't able to feel before the earthquake. When I look at the deceased after the earthquake, I believe I have to think positive and live long for them.

Mao-chan also skated Chopin Ballad No 1 after 311. However, Yuzu is using a different cut of this song. Apparently his version has cut out all the happy parts of the song, which leaves behind the sad parts, the parts which Momoka refers to as "cry of the soul". After watching this documentary, I am starting to understand why he pick this song and what he wants to tell us. What do you think?

do we know this picture? I sure didn't, the folder on my computer would've told me if I did
edit: uh, look what I found
(alternate link)

you mean this post and that picture, I assume?

Some LQ video of FaOI rehearsal on Toyama news (1) and (2)!!! Does anybody know if any of the July shows are going to be broadcasted?

Yuzuru screws up at one point during the group number and hides his face. It would have been hilarious if he had skated to this.

In the first video Yuzuru says that he keeps his medal in his home IN BOX XDDD

The detail in this shirt is beautiful http://dayzdai.tumblr.com/image/90772048770

I just love it whenever something from that video pops up on tumblr

Same shot from Nam's insta.

These T-shirts are really matching themselves. Good job, no matter from show host or fans.

Nobu: cat style landing (describe his landing like cat jumping softly)
Dai: even most unappetizing dumplings have their delicious parts (he is famous as a dumplings lover)
Yuzu: hate to lose and stubborn (so true!)
Javier: Javier-chan
Nam: Nam-chan

In the video (2), they say the show will be aired on 14 July (Mon) from 7:00 pm on their local station.

Ok, still a pretty boy. Relax. (Again, born with natural eye-liner)

Here is SportTime program from Sendai TV this afternoon. Yes, Yuzu landed 4T, but the combination was not completed yet.

If you watch carefully, this video is actually a combination of both his DOI performances. They edited the quad from the 1st performance (which was recorded and only shown in snippets) into the 2nd performance that was broadcasted.

I think this is an edited version. Maybe the 4T is from the first day, and the other was of the second day which almost all of us on this thread have already seen. According to the twitter reports, he fell 4T both shows on the second day of DOI.

Eagle to 3A, 4T, 3Lz3T (this blogger thought it was 2T) Others say 3T.

6/28 Afternoon
3A, 4T fell, 3Lz3T. a bit stumbled at the steps, with small oops expression, tilted his head a bit at the end.

6/28 Evening (this may be the aired one the other day)
Eagle-3A-Eagle beautifully, 4T a big fall, 3Lz single jump, fine flowing steps, fabulous spins.

6/29
http://matome.naver.jp/odai/2140397274316528401

Eagle to 3A, 4T, Wallay to 3Lz fell forward slightly - 2T attached with guts. Mesmerizing steps catching every tune.

He seems to have succeeded 4T on the last day, but I think the cut is the same one we see on the News.

Anyway I want to see the Toyama one where he succeeded all the jumps

I modified my post. It was 3lz-2t. And yes since now, either the quad was wrong, or the 3lz tilted, 3A same thing, and we never saw a 3T^^.
I refound the link : http://vk.com/video-19978335_169261236?hd=3&t=6m48s the part is at 4:28. At least in the first day he did all his jumps but the 3lz 3t was a 3lz 2t.

Not sure whether this has been shared Yuzu's 4T & 4S at 2014 DOI Finale

These posts on tumblr are mislabeled, actually photos are from the Prince Ice World show in Hachinohe almost two months ago (only PIW has that unique "fureai" part at the end of each show).

One of Yuzu fans regard him as Asura in this video already (at 3:40-4:10 阿修羅=Ashura(Asura))
http://youtu.be/8yRzIu63_7M

Just found some new LQ news clip of FaOI In Toyama. Yuzu didn't screwed up the choreography in this rehearsal. Also, is this is successful 3Lz-3T from the afternoon show where he has skated a perfect new SP??

Coca Cola´s poster? Interesting choice of name http://horiyan.tumblr.com/post/90895433791

I don't really think it's real though, is it?

it's similar to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6rudBYSMtE ....i remember many people confused thinking it's a real coca cola ad and didn't know it was only fanmade

None of the skaters have done promotions with Coke. The name on bottles are part of a campaign called share-a-coke and is done by people/fans.

He touched upon his asthma and told them, that when faced with hardships, you shouldn't compare yourself with others but the hardship with give you the strength to fight. Also, he told them to be someone who doesn't like to lose.

【video】Yuzu delivered his fighting messages to "Challenge A" event.

http://www.asahi.com/sp/articles/video/ASG7664MTG76UTQP01C.html

In July, Asahi News held an series lectures – ‘Challenge A’, targeting to learn challenge spirits from elite sportsmen/women. Yuzu was one of speakers to be invited to deliver his fighting experience. He was interviewed and taken the messages by video. The full article of interview will be published on 27, July in Asahi News.

His voice is really attractive to listen! ;)

ps. Hope someone available to translate his speech as I won't.

Nathalie Pechelat tweeted that Yuzuru landed quad loop , and quad lutz two footed

4Lz? Maybe someone's going to post a video *puppy eyes*. The kid is so ambitious:clap: I can't wait to see the new LP, probably the 4S is perfect right now. Maybe next year he'll do the 4L in competitions.

Thank you for this. I've been listening to Ballade (the whole ver) and at first I was curious as to why Yuzu's cut was edited like that. I thought some parts of the piece would have been better for him and then as I've listened to it on repeat and now it's my LSS. My favorite part of Ballade had to be the first and last theme.

Didn't Yuzu said before that he likes fried foods? No more gyoza for him then, carbonated drinks needs to go to. It's good for his stomach considering how stressful his lifestyle is. I'm now curious how the heck does he gets the energy to skate when he's a small serving eater. Skating takes like more than half his daily caloric intake.

Recently, 2008 & 2009 Japanese Junior Nationals videos are uploaded again at Daily Motion.
I actually saw these TV programs before, but still they are very interesting.
One thing. Sad farewell to Kento Nakamura  He retired this May.

2008:

In this year, Yuzuru was the first in SP, but he failed two 3A jumps in LP. He finally won over Kento and Shoma.
You can see he is angry after the competion, just the same reaction as that after the LP at Sochi

Little Shoma is in the video too.

Also, Ryuju and Keiji at DOI 2014 at Yokohama:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x20veg9_日野龍樹-田中刑事_sport

Ryuju: King Arthur
Keiji: La Traviata

Come to think of it, it is surprising. They start competing in senior category from this year. Yuzuru might have been in this stage, although he is already OGM.

I don't think this was reported yet about FaOI (July 6) shows.

Afternoon show:
Ballade was beautiful 3A, 4T fall, 3Lz+3T OK. Collaboration with Sarah, popped a 4T into a double or single (person couldn't tell clearly), 3A fall.. After the finale he did a final 4T as revenge.

Night show:
Eagle 3A good, 4T strange landing, 1Lz. The person whose report I'm looking at could see Stephane from where she was sitting, apparently he gasped really loudly at seeing Yuzuru's 4T landed essentially horizontal and then cheered really loudly with a big smile. Collab had successful 4T and 3A. After the finale, he challenged 4Lo (hand down), 4Lz fall, and a final 4T+3A with a fall. I guess this is contrary to what Nathalie said, but everywhere I look people say he fell on the 4Lz, even though the rotation was there.

I think he has only performed Ballade cleanly the one time (FaOI July 5th afternoon show). Understandable, it must be a very busy off season for him!

how on earth has that Finlandia video not been GIF-ed to death yet?
(considering how all the shippers go completely bonkers over that picture, I'm honestly surprised)
