That's what I feel really amazing of Yuzu as well. If any of you guys remember that Yuzu explained his special physical condition in January, well also described in his photobook Aoi Honoo too, his limited time of off-training is about 10 days. Once the limit is exceed, it will cause his muscle to waste rapidly and meanwhile he will lose special image and timing of his jumps, which actually happened in FS Worlds 2013, this is the reason why he was fighting himself back of his jumps at Worlds, particularly jump timing. But we all know Yuzu took rest for one month as doctor suggested after FS Worlds 2013, basically means he didn't practice for at least 30 days , much more than his limit 10 days. Therefore it's just damn amazing to see he could return to such level, perfect big jumps 3A and 4T in such short time, because he probably just started systematic training around one month as he went back to Toronto at late April.

And I have every confidence he will succeed. I love his jumps and his determination. Anyway, Yuzu decides what he wants and needs to do and in what timetable.
    Can't agree anymore.

He absolutely is and will fight hard to consistent his 4s, not just maybe related to his personal Olympic strategy but also his determination of developing himself into higher level as always. He never run away from 4s no matter how many times he falls. And eventually he will succeed, 100% sure, just like his previous procedure of practicing and perfecting 3A and 4T.

Sorry if this has been posted already, but I am so glad to see 'healthy' Yuzuru at Art on Ice. http://mainichi.jp/graph/2013/06/02/...8000c/008.html

Wish Yuzu good luck and injury-free in the new season!

Yuzu's GP assignments are SC and Paris. Yes, I get to see him live in Europe!

I thought he will skate again in Japan and North America. But now I can really seriously consider a short trip to France

Thanks for the info. A bit of a surprise (to me), though, that Yuzu didn't get assigned to NHK Trophy as the reigning National Champ as well as the highest finished Japanese skater (4th) at the most recent Worlds...

^;;; don't say that. this thread is for Yuzu and his fans.

As long as NHK is to have Mao, they should have no problem about ticket sales and $$$$, I think.
I would rather see it this way: Yuzuru (and his coach) preferred Skate Canada first, for an obvious reason; he trains there. Then competing again at NHK, which is only 2 weeks away, was too close for him considering his health issue (fatigue), Team Orser figured, declined JSF's offer and chose TEB instead, maybe?
It's unfortunate he has to face the reigning world champion twice on GP circuit. Almost no chance to beat Patrick on his home ice it seems, however, if he can beat Patrick at TEB, well, it will be a huge confidence boost for him, indeed! Good luck to Yuzuru!

It's okay for me at least Yuzuru will compete at NHK in future again. I hope all the Japanese skaters especially planning to retire will have skates of their lives!!

Very few fans knows that yuzuru has turn down a lot of publicity opportunities since last year.Big show,I dreamed of him participating in such event since he was 15!But he turned it down
It looks like our boy don't care much about fame and I respect him for that.I respect him more after he gave better opportunity to senior athlete and choose to face the most powerful rival this time.

Yuzu's reaction to GPS assignment: This is the best opportunity ever, Patrick inspires me lot and competing with him helps me find out what's missing in me.

Lol. And you are like some special "very few fan" who knows what nobody else knows? What publicity opportunities exactly since last year he turned down? WTT? I thought he was injuried. With your "don't care much about fame" you make it sound that the injury was the excuse but in fact he tured the event down. Think what you type. What other events he turned down? Since last year he took part in all events that he was expected/supposed to compete, besides WTT. And yes, I agree with you that "facing the most powerful rival" as you put it, is never a matter of fame, considering what rival we are talking about .

I think JSF's offer was never on the table. It might be seen unfortunate for Yuzu to face PC twice, but a good promotion for PC. Everybody's happy! Skate Canada, Orser (who is SC as well afterall)...

I believe so, Yuzu also placed higher than Patrick at GPF, but actually I'd be happy if he gets silver, lol...as Patrick is a more mature skater in some aspects, if they both skated clean, Patrick will place higher for sure. Patrick did inspire Yuzu from the first time they competed together in 2010 COR ( from blue flame), so I look forward to Yuzu competing against Patrick at all events for the coming season, and wish they both bring out their best game at the most important one.
