Yes, and don't they all look dapper. Patrick and Scott clean up nicely. Of course Joannie and Tessa always are beautifully dressed and groomed. Pretty nice for them to be honored like that.

Thanks STARushka. It's an honour for Tessa, Scott, Joannie and Patrick to be invited to the parliament. I hope they managed to convince the parliamentarians and senators the importance of skating in Canada.

Thanks Naan. These are great pictures. Oh my my.. who are those 'super tall dudes'?

Oh gee.... what's Patrick doing... practising surfing on ice! He must have missed the 'surfing' he had at the last Yuna show.

    Many thanks, loreley!
He's really matured since the Vancouver Olympics. It's not just he mastered a Quad jump.
I've always thanked him for not having retired after the Games.

Thank you very much loreley. from me too. I love the article and it gives an insight into Patrick's thoughts. I love the fact that he speaks so well of Buttle and acknowledged Buttle's sportmanship in putting his own defeat by Patrick aside, and remained as friends off ice. This is what I called 'great sportmanship'. How we handle defeat is just as important as how we win in competitions. Buttle is not only a great skater but insofar shown incredible gift in choreography. Buttle can only get better.

    Back to Patrick.
Agree with you Ravensque. This kid has grown. Not only has he grown into a young handsome man, but he is finding his own voice and direction in the things he do. We can only learn if we take responsibility of our own decisions. And I like the fact that he dares to take risk .. and he is only 21! A prerequisite of anyone who wants to go into business (so Patrick I think you are on the right track).

I can't forget that sound of blades gliding across the ice when Patrick was performing to Elegy in RC, during his step sequence, I think. The music kinda faded out and it made it more outstanding. It just keeps coming back to me. That was DIVINE.

I agree, I think it's one of the coolest things, something I never thought I would even appreciate, but it's almost magical.

Many thanks to the person who scanned and uploaded the article and to loreley for bringing the links here! The last 3 paragraphs are my favorite part of the article. I love the fact that, while Patrick enjoys winning and wants to be an Olympic Champion, he also sees the bigger picture. He loves SKATING for its own sake, not just competing. He wants to be remembered for his SKATING and not necessarily for his results. As far as I'm concerned, he's already accomplished that. At times, his comments can be taken out of context, but this article was very well done! He has always been a very articulate and honest person in interviews.

I LOVE that moment in the program! It's such a PERFECT way to showcase Patrick's pure skating ability!
