One of the positive aspects Gracie cites of training at Arctic Edge is the 'no drama' atmosphere...wherein preparing for Worlds with Patrick and the Shibs is no different than preparing for a senior B or nationals...

I had wanted to post even before the article that I believed Patrick's happy sunny character would have a good influence on Gracie. He seems to spread that joy around wherever he is. The Shibs too are the happy friendly sort. Gracie is surrounded by positive energy in that environment and that's just what she needs. Yeah, no drama. Not when people are open, happy, and loving.

Yes, I knew it was old. I could feel Patrick's tension when I watched bits of it again. I am SO HAPPY with his new mindset. Some people still say he makes excuses, which they find annoying, but oh well. I'm looking forward to how he skates in Pyeongchang; may it be his best-skated Olympics yet! :)

I'm so glad Gracie is finding the Canton atmosphere helpful, as did Patrick when he arrived there. May they all remain healthy and happy! :)

ETA: I'm not thrilled with my new avatar (the flags are more clear than the people :laugh:) but I love the picture itself and how happy the three of them look together. :yes:
