Then the question is whether he has to go to a senior B like everyone else to get a qualifying score, since he does not have one from last year. V&T had to do it last year, when they qualified for the Russian World team, and were not able to go to Euros. There was no Senior B for pairs in time for them to get to Euros, but they were able to compete at the Mont Blanc Trophy before Worlds, and so were able to compete there.

leave no stone unturned
I thought they couldnt go to Euros because Tatiana had to complete a whole year not competing because she switched countries, from the day of Vancouver Olys and for a year. How could they have a minimum score anyway since the pairing was new and they could not compete for a year?
It would be really sad if Polina doesnt get a Visa, she finally got a spot for euro team and I wish she could go. I m afraid by next year and until Sochi there will be no room.

That really sounds weird somehow, but I have to admit I'm still not angry about it... I was hoping Biryukova would be going, she's a little like my personal favorit between those three fighting over the third spot. Although I like Shelepen too.

Nice to see she got her 3-3 back, and her SP was so lovely. I really don't see how she should be overmarked (I mean in relation to the other skaters, not that national-international thing...) or how she didn't win deservingly.
Sorry for Liza though... she's so much fun to watch and she was so good at the GP. Hope she'll manage to get better at russian events soon.
And I like Leonova so I'm kinda happy she got a medal, but that PCS is really too high. Even worse with Makarova, but I have to admit with how much I dislike that LP, I'm far from being an objective jugde here.
Lipnitskaya so far isn't my cup of tea either... she's still very young, so of course things can change, but I don't really enjoy seeing her skate by now. Not going to argue against her medal though.
Still, most important thing: Adelina~!!

Sotnikova, Leonova and Makarova were all way overmarked in PCS compared to ISU scoring. Look at their FS scores:

Incidentally, Sotnikova was not credited with 3z+3Lo at Nationals. She got 3z+3lo<<, meaning the loop was downgraded to a double and she got -1.10 GOE on the combination. She did get credit for the 3/3 at her two GP events, but she also got a deduction for flutzing at both, which she didn't get at Nationals.

Samuelson / Gilles competed at Cup of China without having an International "B", based on Samuelson / Bates 2010 results and scores. I would think that Plushenko's Olympic score would be just as valid.

It's possible--but Russia believes the ISU has to OK it.
some of the GP hinges on invitations by the federation holding the event, AFAIR. Apparently China invited S&B and in return Z&Z were invited by the US, I imagine (they had to sit out a year due to injury). Only 2 Chinese dancers were at CoC, and they could have chosen to go with 3.
The case of the Zhangs is more to the point, I think. I don't believe they competed during the 2010 - 2011 season, and the US had 3 of their own pairs at Skate America.
(I'm not up to date on this family of rules, so I hope someone here has the definitive answers)
