I have actually been lurking on GS agian for the last couple of weeks! Hello to everyone! I'm very excited about finally seing a proper senior international event and so close to home! I'm guessing i'll likely be bitten by the bug and have to spend all of my money on skating competitions like Seniorita!

I'm excited to finally get to see Plushy (albeit not representative of how he has kated in the past). Soooooo excited to get to see Joubert (potentially ditto as for Plushy) and I am absolutely crazy about getting to see Fernandez, Volosozhar(sp?)& Trankov and (injury permitting?) Aliona& Robin.

I might try and dip back in to give some reports/impressions, maybe give marks to Seniorita for FR (friendliness), AP (appearence), SC (screaming particularly for Plush), and CO (conversation):laugh::cool:

I am going up to Sheffield tomorrow as I am one of the Volunteers at the event! I am helping with all the media and also helping to organise and run the Skaters Party/Banquet at the end of the championships!

I am hoping to run into most of the skaters at some point during the championships (mostly excited to meet Fernandez:biggrin:, Plushy:biggrin: and Joubert:biggrin:!) and my aim while I am there is to get as many photos as I can with the skaters also try and get as many autographs as possible!!!

I also know that John and Sinead Kerr with both be attending the championships but I am unsure what they will be doing while they are there!

Can't wait until tomorrow!!! :)

Wow! It must be really cool to finally see a proper senior international event for a long-time member of FS forums. I am very happy for you! And I am incredibly glad to hear that Plush excites you so much.

For those who are either can't go there or are simply not in the mood to visit that yorkshirish-how-to-spell-it place, His Majesty Internet will do the work to cheer up for Master Plush. Well, to be fair, mostly Russians are generous enough not to block online channels, like their international colleagues often do. The TV channel Rossiya-2 will cover the event LIVE and in full. Eurosport won't bother much, it will show it recorded and in a much shorter version.

Official schedule and time zones (if you still occasionally get lost like mysefl):

Also, this site seems like confident in promising to show preliminary rounds, which I find hard to believe. But just in case I leave the links here, the same site, whatever link works (if it does) :

ISU pay channel is available in some countries. Check first if yours is on the list before to pay (mine is not, for example):

For Japan-residents: the sky channel JSport4 will cover the event (boys and gilrs LIVE, all others are not):

HA! Ant will honor us with his presence in 2012?;)
And I bet Plushy is very excited to see you!! As a matter of fact I think you are the reason he asked ISU the exception:cool:

:jaw:and I know how generous you are when it comes to pcs! I have to pratice polite, go to hairdresser, sing in front of mirror and study english, so in general be and behave like Charlize Theron.. in a week!

Eurosport coverage is a disgrace.

No coverage at all on Wednesday
Thursday one hour 'highlights' of the pairs free skate,
Friday 75mins highlights of the free dance.
Saturday live coverage of the mens free for 75mins, probably last two groups? and that night 75mins highlights of the ladies free
Sunday live coverage of the gala

Why did they bother showing much of the grand prix series and then more or less ignore the europeans? I would gladly have passed on the grand prix for proper live coverage of the europeans. They could easily have shown most of it on Eurosport 2. I was planning on taking Wednesday of so I could watch the pairs short live. Hopefully the BBC will show more but their coverage in the last few years has consisted of very small highlights package

I like Polina Korobeynikova too. She skates very well now. But she is only 15 years old ( 16 in April) and this Euros is her first senior international competition. So I worry for her.
If somebody doesn`t know her I want to say that she has 3F-3T, 2A-3T, 3Lz and her jumps are good (better than Leonova and Makarova`s jumps) though she is tall (168 cm). Beautiful skating.
This season there was a lot of good girls at Russian Championchip but Polina Korob. is my favorit.

It's awful! I'm appalled! I understand that it's the Australian Open but - that's why they have Eurosport 1 *and* 2. It's truly a shame :disapp:

A girl has a very good ticket for thursday and friday, almost first row and much MUCH better than mine which are far away from the ice level, I didnt buy it because I dont want to sit apart of my friends, but in case you are still thinking of it, there will be room for an extra bed!:)
