Hope Martinez from the Philippines gets a medal, he gets zero support from his government or his federation.
what happened to han yan? his score is quite low for him.
Ice Dancing and Johnny Fan
He popped his axel, and his scoring protocols indicate his combo was reduced to a single flip(lipped) with straight -3s GOE-there are no fall deductions or underrotation marks, but obviously he must have fumbled it pretty badly. He was lucky Feodosi Efremenkov did have a fall, very obviously on his triple axel.

Notes from men's practice this morning, only managed to watch the last group. All of them were quite solid, not a lot of falls!
Han Yan: He really took his time and did lots of steps to warm-up, a lot of edge excercises and single jumps. It really reminded me of the way Carolina Kostner is training - she always does LOADS of steps, cross-overs and single jumps as well, before starting to do triples. Same for him. Runthrough: 3f3t, 3l, 3lz step out, 2a2t3l, 3f, 3lz2t, 3sal. Solid jumps to follow, 3l out of turns, 3lz, 3lz2t, 3l, 3sal, 3f. Good practice over all. His basics are to die for. Such soft skating, deep deep edges. I really hope we will see more of him in the future.
Efremenkov: Wrote down 3f step out, 3f, 3f3t. Runthrough: 3A hand down possibly UR, 3a2t much better, 3f, 3lz3t, 3s, 2a. Good and solid runthrough.
Martinez: Was quite the opposite of Han Yan - got out on the ice and started jumping right away. He was constantly jumping lol. Landed most of his jumps, most of them with scratchy landings though, he does not have a lot of flow coming out of them. Saw 3l, 3Sal, 2A, popped 3lz, 3lz2t, 3t, crazy spread eagle into 2a. He has impressive flexibility and shows it off in his spins. Runthrough: 3lz2t, 3l hand down, 3lz, 3sal step out, 3l, 3t. Quite consistent on the jumps.
Uno Shoma: He is so tiny!!! 2a, 3sal ... his jumps are tiny too lol, 3f. Good flow over the ice. Runthrough: 3flutz, 3f, 3l UR fall, 3l, 3f2t2t, lovely basics, nice footwork, 3sal UR doublefooted. Quite a lot of falls on his 3l and 2a3t later on in practice but got both done in the end.
Ulanskovsky: Runthrough with 3lz3t (fall), 2a, 3t2t. His posture going into his jumps really bothered me.
Notes on ladies' practice and pairs free to come soon.
