Anyone doing live pbp?
To correct the information in that blog, Dube/Wolfe actually did a triple twist.
Duhamel/Radford, Dube/Wolfe and Moore-Towers/Moscovitch are in a virtual tie, with Lawrence/Swiegers just a couple of points back. It will be a very exciting event tomorrow.
Dube & Wolfe had a fantastic skate, too bad hey were in the earlier flight. I thought they should have been ahead by a point or so. What a surprise after their so-so Grand Prix season.
TSN has it archived, so watching the top five now
Jones/Gaskell: Okay, they have improved so much since I first saw them two years ago. I like that she's taller/more muscular now. She doesn't look like a rag doll when he throws her. The throw was lovely.
Lawrence/Swiegers: Shame about the fall, but that was as best as they've skated this season.
Moore-Towers/Moscovitch: I hated this program at the beginning of the season, but again - they skated it quite well in terms of attack and presentation.
Dube/Wolfe: They were far better than I expected. Super clean, positive GOEs on everything type skate.
Duhamel/Radford: Yeah, I'm fine with them as the slight lead. The levels they got slightly make up for the loss of TES (the lift didn't count) and the PCS were definitely ahead.
I'm just watching Dube and Wolfe on TSN video now, haven't got to the final flight yet but D/W amazed me! So much improvement since the GP series! Could be better than Jessica and Bryce eventually.
I was impressed with Lawrence/Swiegers, and Dube/Wolfe made such an improvement, wow!!
I was surprised at the overall level of the competition. It was only a season or two that we were commenting on the lack of triple twists among pair teams in Canada. At this competition nine of the twelve pair teams did one. Also I think seven of the twelve teams landed side-by-side triple jumps.
The earlier teams were particularly impressive to me, since I wasn't expecting clean programs. Several of them managed that.
I like Lawrence and Swiegers' Beetlejuice short program, which made me smile all the way through. And I like Dube and Wolfe's performance as well. It's hard for me to pick the top three.
That sounds lovely. The Beetlejuice music is tremendously engaging.
It's going to be quite a fight for the world team spots. I don't have a favourite of these teams, so it'll be exciting to watch the fight. Hoping for great performances all around!![]()
What is going on with Kirsten and Dylan . . . an injury perhaps? They were so strong during the GP season and now they may not even medal here.![]()
So Duhamel/Radford win their first Canadian title together and along with Dube/Wolfe will comprise the 2012 Canadian pairs entries for Worlds.
