Eastern Sectional champions
6th last year in Greensboro

This was much stronger than their Easterns performance.
He reminds me of Maurizio Magaglio for sexiness--this was a very sexy performance through the rhumba section-and fun & bright during tequila. I liked it better than Jordan & Cowan, particularly the deep knees in circular step.

Twizzles a little trouble.
50.03, and Kim Does Not Like their score.
Neither do I.

Shibutanis up

They are not Skipping to the Bip anymore. There's a cover of The Girl From Ipanema involved.

Purple dress on Maia

Definite changes in the program as well as the music

3 sets very fast twizzles, good rotational speed and unison, but not as much travel down the ice as I would like.

They look very very happy.

72.61

OK twizzles
nice rhumba
nice expression (both face & body) from Charlotte
nice feet on the rotational lift by Dean

Both Igor and Marina in the KnC! Wow she got back from Sheffield fast

52.55 into 3rd

Samuelson & Todd Gilles.
In mild mourning purple, gray & black.

Their relative newness shows

The lift wasn't completely smooth, I thought.
Twizzles had some roughness too

Music better than at sectionals though. (less James Bondy stuff)

Todd's in better shape than at CoC for sure.

Maddy in red, Evan in black

I can't love

Kim says chemistry, ball room feel

Maddy has great facial expression!!

I love their lift!! Kim likes it too.

twizzles kinda overly careful but OK

Maddy's edges not as good as Evan's in the circular step.

They got flowers in the KnC! long time since I've seen that.

Score: 55.49. Narrowly into 2nd place through 9 couples.

End of group number 2

*Ahem* Christian Schmucker came to the United States from Switzerland in 1752. His great-great-grandson J.M. Smucker founded the Smucker's Jams and Jellies company, today one of the major sponsors of figure skating in the U.S. :)

It is not every skater that can skate in front of a sign with their name on it, whether they are related or not.

There is also a peanut butter sign, too, on the boards.

Cool.

Now they just need a bread ad.

They are about to do an ice resurfacing. And give out an award.

It looks like a pretty decent crowd :) so much for dance not being a draw.

Where/what is this B channel that they keep talking about on IceNetwork, where you get interviews with the skaters???

I missed four programs, including Shibs - had to take a call. Sounds like they aced it! Go, Lynn and Logan! and of course Marlie.

Barbie, are you there or watching on line?

Yeah I am watching on icenetwork. I didn't live comment on some of teams in Warm-Up Group 2 because I was away from my laptop, but I was still watching and I filled in some general thoughts after the fact.

So if you go to icenetwork's main site, the 2nd video under "LIVE" says "backstage at US Champs". Click on it and you'll get sporadic interviews with skaters. It is only live when the skaters are in the mixed zone after their performance.

So do you have to pull it up on a separate PC? I can't seem to open it at the same time as the main viewing window. In other words, how do I know when to switch over to that to watch??

:wow:

A little high? I think we are seeing a little inflation of marks here.

Finally tuning in! Hubbell/Donohue look sharp in the warm up, rooting for them to take bronze! And LOVE Meryl's new dress. Good luck to everyone!

You have to use 2 separate browsers...I'm using Chrome and Firefox

The Shibutanis beat V/M's short dance score at Canadian Nationals by 4.20 points! I know you can't necessarily compare COP scores across events; however, Chan's 302 point total score at Canadian Nationals indicates that inflation was in effect north of the border as well.

Her orange dress is covered with very long pieces of orange sphaghetti. It's kind of distracting. I wasn't crazy about this program. They seemed a bit tight. It's their senior debut at nationals.

They were doing that leg extended to the side twizzle.

Score:
53.82 into 3rd.

I liked her sister's program better.

Hubbell/Donohue!! They were on fire, so much energy all throughout. Loved it. Did they change the lift? It looked different from how I remembered at SA.

Hubbell & Donohue

really good speed in the circular step
Same outfits as at Skate America
This really worked for them.

Good lift, and the cool ending with him flipping over her back.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them in 2nd behind the Shibs.

57.56 in to 2nd
