Random question.

Does anyone know if Yuka Sato speaks Japanese? Just wondering if she speaks to Haruka in her native tongue and helps translate somewhat between her and Jason.

I'm pretty sure Yuka (who presumably grew up in Japan) does speak Japanese. Now, I'm not Japanese myself and don't understand the language, but at the Kiss-and-cry after Haruka's SP, Yuka and Haruka were speaking together in a language that was definitely not English, so I assume they were speaking Japanese to each other.

.....
Poor Haruka. That was not a great LP at all. Needs more pep, less falls.

Is anyone else having problems with their Ice Network feed? Mine is repeatedly freezing. I know it is not a problem with my internet connection, because I can download Youtube vids without a problem.

Aww it was so cute when Jason said "daijyobu" to Haruka after her skate (meaning "it's ok").

Oh ok. Sorry don't know some of the veteran skaters very well. Started following skating in the 2000s era. :)

It's a perfectly sensible question. How would you know unless you ask? Actually, I think Yuka learned English as an adult, or at least as a teenager, and her fluency is impressive. Her father is Nubuo Sato, a former Olympian and perhaps the greatest coach in Japan. Currently he coaches Mao Asada.

Oh wow ok! My knowledge of past skaters is quite poor. I need to look up some of these veteran skaters. Thanks! :)

....unless Amelie really, really bombs, SC is going to have a difficult time justifying a decision to send Cynthia to Worlds.
