Amanda and Mark should have been fourth... hope they can pull up in the long!

Also hoping Sui & Han do a fantastic job! I love their short, so cute!

Really hoping Duhamel and Radford can dig themselves out of that hole, they're better than that.

I'm pulling for Duhamel/Radford to pull up to the podium and I also have a feeling Marley & Brubaker will be able to stay on the podium.

I'll be doing a LIVE play-by-play of the event here http://backstagebarbie.blogspot.com/...nships_12.html

This is going to be a grueling comp for those who do not train at the higher altitude. I hope this competition goes smoothly and safely for all those competing. I'm especially worried about lifts.

Sadly, I can't watch either the pairs LP or the Free Dance as its work tomorrow and these events take place late at night/in the early hours of the morning where I am. Hence, looking forward to seeing the videos tomorrow! It's going to be a really exciting finish between D&W and V&M! Will also be an interesting conclusion to the pairs competition.

Good luck to all the competitors

I'm just hoping ALL the pairs skate clean and put on a great competition, there's nothing more boring than watching a bunch of falls, pops, et al.

    1 MINUTE LEFT IN WARMUP!!!!

Huibo DONG / Yiming WU (CHN)

    Music: Mulan (soundtrack)

    9th after SP

    3FTw - shaky landing
    2T+1T - she does only 2T w step-out (I think)
    3S - she has step-out, he doubles
    Li - a bit clumsy
    BoDs
    FCCoSp - off/on unison
    3LoTh
    3STh - stepout
    Li
    PCoSp
    ChSp
    Li

Boring... they need a lot of refinement.

    Score: 88.39, total 137.91 and into 1st

I think the most dangerous discipline at this altitude is pairs; here's hoping & praying nothing bad happens here. I applaud them for just making it through the program.

I LOVE their HUGE 3twist, but she really needs to clean up her lines, work on leg extension, and comb her hair, style it. Such beautiful costumes are marred when one looks unkempt. Jmho.

    Good job.

Ho-hum beginning. To me their costumes did not go with her tomboy look.

I really hate it in lifts when the heel grab looks like an afterthought. "Hmm, maybe I should bend my leg. Wonder if I should grab the blade - might get me another .36725 pt...."

Go, MBM-Rockne and Takahashi-Tran!!!! I'm for all skaters named Takahashi.

    Dong & Wu China

Twist was in here somewhere, but I missed it getting set up.

Two jump elements, 2 major problems
She landed forward on one (really UR'ed)

    lift, nice
death spiral, guy didn't hold his pivot well.
SBS spins, out of unison several places in the first set
    got together at the end.

getting their breath (need it in CO springs)

    throw 3Lp nice.
    throw 3S turnout on landing

Lift 3 lasso to upside down stag, rotate out. not fluid
pair spin. she's on two feet this is an attempt to do something new but it did not work for me

kind of a neat composite spiral
lift. He had to come to a stand still to get her down properly
    not good.

    Total 137.91

    Zhang & Wang CHN

    peppy stepping
singing in the rain nice 3Tw
    Really nice 3t2t well synch'd
Something wrong with solo jumps-one of them piffed it

    lift
more fancy stepping into pair spin
    recentered, not good
    tap dance
    side by side spins
went out of synch at the end

skate skate to gain speed into a throw 3 loop. heavy landing but good

    staying in tap character throughout
    throw 3S, landing not secure

Nice lift with a carry that has her up on one hand like a pole into a stag position
    Another lift (star )

Really, their attempt to have a character in this dance is commendable

death spiral. Again, I don't like his pivot.
