No relibale source but rumor says that, according to the most recent interview to Nikolai (in Russian language), Dai may be going to prepare for the Olympic season with four new programs...Two (=Sp+Free) choreo'd by Nikolai. One more short, probably Tango music with the choreographer he already tried (Kenji?), and a Free with Lori Nichol.

Is it TRUE??? I hope Let's talk, or anyone else accessible to Russian source will soon check in here to confirm and give us further information on this.

^ This info is from the official Morozov site, which could be considered as reliable: http://www.morozov-team.com/article/95.html

"With Takahashi we are planning to make four programs: I will choreo two of them and two other choreographers will make the other two. This season in Japan Daisuke got choreographed an excellent "Tango". With the same specialists he will make a SP again. Also, Daisuke wants to work with a famous choreographer Lori Nikol, she will make another FS for Daisuke. We are plannig to have so many programs in order to have a choice- then we will choose the best."

Well-well. Four sounds like a little too much. But it's a Morozov's say for now and during the off-season there could be some "adjustments" I think.

Earlier the same Morozov siate mentioned that Daisuke will join Nikolai's training group later (probably after PIW) and the training camp will be in New-York: http://www.morozov-team.com/article/90.html . Today A.Verner, who can be terribly irreliable, posted that Morozov's group will be in Lukanin's ice rink "Floyd Hall Arena" in New Jersey: http://www.floydhallarena.com/default.asp

Thanks for the info let's talk and deedee. Sounds like Dai is not putting all of his apples in one basket.
My fingers are crossed that he uses Kenji for his SP, I love his work.

You shoot, Let's talk!

Seems this one has been removed from YT, here is another one with English substitles. :)

Quite a good interview!
Loved his answer around 3:00-4:00; Asked about the current situation of Japanese Men discipline with such depth, Dai feels very happy as the eldest one of them, but really hard/tough for him, too, as one of competitors to go head to head and fight for Olympic spots come Nats in December. I always like how he expresses his feelings/opinions without being arrogant himself and/or without saying negative things re other skaters.

From 4:05~ What are you doing, Dai??? at 4:12, you look a bit 'Oyaji-kusai~~~'!

Watching TV nonchalantly, I have encounterd with a Japanese piano duo 'Les Freres' who are brothers. They started learning classical piano as small kids and moved to Luxemburg at age 15 to study it further, but eventually became interested in being more creative on composing and playing piano music as 'Quatre-Mains' style (French words, meaning play one piano with four hands).
http://lesfreres.jp/english/profile.shtml

What is very unique is their style and way of thinking. When this duo got started their professional career, they visited a lot of 'kindergartens'. That was also the times when they were still unsure and less confident of themselves; if the direction they were heading to was the right choice to make, if their style ever got 'accepted' and make any success, filled with many if if if...But once the brother started playing it for these kids, and saw kids' eyes soon grew brighter; some clapping along with the music, some dancing, some jumping up & down with laughter, they finally came to believe they made the right decision. It was these kids at kindergarten who taught this duo that good music is good music after all; when people listen to music and feel comfortable with it, it just shows, regardless of whatever genre the music is or who plays it.

As of today, even after this duo has made a remarkable success, they still pay visits to kindergarten. Even more unique is they invite/welcome all kids including 'babies' to their concerts, because it was these innocent kids who encouraged the duo to keep on going for what they believe, and more importantly, kids are simply the future not only for music world but everything in the world.

And their way how they see kids and music reminds me of Daisuke a lot. Dai mentioned a number of times in the past that he loves teaching/instructing kids skaters; not only because it helps to spread popularity of the sport and to raise next generations in the long run, but also by watching these kids enjoy skating, it reminds him of his earlier days when he purely enjoyed 'skating' (=no jumps, no spins, but all skating in skating boots and moving around ice) and gives him powers, joy for skating once again, motivation and even inspiration.

In this regard, if his team is interested in using something very original/unique, not the ordinary/regular/familiar music skated to death already, and is interested again in some sort of colaboration with Japanese music/musicians for the upcoming Olympic season, like Vancouver in 2010, it will be great for picking up music from this duo for his SP, I thought.
Here is the one I would pick up from Les Freres music.
Eagle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fd4NtgqwjkU

This would suit Dai's skating style; power, intensity, coolness, darkness and passion. I thnik his postures and lines on ice has much improved thanks to his ballet excercise, so I would love if he can skate with modern balletic falvour. And who the choreographer is?...Kenji Miyamoto, of course!

Or, if you want something cute, uplifting and more jazzy, how about this, Kenji? ;)
BoogieWoogie Depot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Xkzn2RPpw
Or, Six Mains Boogie, with Oe Senri: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81fq8Ps_QqU

I have a question. Is it allowed to pick up music from live concerts for competitive programs? If so, would be great I think, because all these clapping, whristling and yaying throughout the music can be included and it will create a lively atmosphere as if a competitive ice rink were a live concert! :)

Random noises in a program have never been forbidden-this year we have had clapping, bird song & Scott Moir's roar. Last season, there were airplane sounds in Zhiganshina & Gaszi's program, and clock sounds in various programs, so I don't see why live concerts couldn't be used. In dance, of course, anything with a clear beat is OK. In the other disciplines, understandable words are forbidden, but even that rule will likely be overturned soon.

I like that Eagle track!

-Dai at practices in 2012-13 season: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZYozwQ9YM

I love Dai in a simple black tight practice outfit.
Though he is not tall or huge in real life, he looks very fit and masculine. good amount of muscle and does not look 'too slender' which we often see from figure skaters. (For that matter he sometimes complains that he is a bit 'too heavy' for his height as a figure skater due to his muscle...) Only complaint from his fans is his slim waist for a man, almost criminal to some women in the world me included. ;)

-Dai, Utako sensei & his Team: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFvqXtreO6o

The three priceless moments for me:
The first one (same as the last one), Utako sensei looking straight into his eyes, is right before his Free performance at 2010 Nats when Dai after placing 4th in SP was in danger losing his spot for 2011 Worlds...
The second one at 0:12 is April 5th 2009; Dai stood on ice for the first time since his awful knee injury and surgery in Oct 2008.
The third one at 5:08, she hugging him after Free at 2010 Vancouver

Thank you so much, Utako sensei and everyone in his team for 'always being with Daisuke' on his good days and bad days.

Thanks a lot, ostile. :) Yes yes, seems so!

Human to Hero next meets Daisuke Takahashi, a figure skater from Japan.
The 27-year-old wanted to be a gymnast as a child, but there was an ice rink near his home -- and he has gone on to become Asia's first male world champion.
Takahashi says he loves to perform for an audience and is hoping to improve on his 2010 Olympic bronze at Sochi 2014.
