I would love to hear from him soon. He must have known that lots of people support him. We are still waiting news from him. I hope he rest well and stays healthy.

No videos uploaded yet unfortunately, but here are some on-line news from today for you, Moeima ;), where Dai talks a bit about his future.

The idea of this charity ice show came up by Daisukei+Kenji, right after the disastrous mega earthquake hit the majority of Eastern Japan in March 2011. Started in Spring 2011 in Kobe, and this year's show was the fourth. They intentionally picked up this place 'Kobe', since this city was also hit by a big earthquake in January 1995: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Hanshin_earthquake, and was literally destroyed completely. (I lived in Kobe when it hit the city. My husband and I were just lucky to survive it, because the 15-story apartment we lived back then was half-destroyed while sleeping (meaning we had no time to escape from it), but thank goodness the floor smashed/collapsed was not our floor... then we again experienced the 2011 mega-quake while working in an offcie in Tokyo.) I sincerely hope the show drew a lot of people, so that has been very successful as in the past. :)

 Thank you so much for the information. He looks joyful and healthy, that's good to know. I can't express how much I admire this man. I hope he will be back in form and have a more healthy life than ever because he deserves it.

What a pity among my friends who are living in Japan, none are figure skating fans. I studied Japanese for 2 years so I can understand a bit when they talk, but since it's article with lots of Kanji, I couldn't understand anymore (Kanji were my nemesis and the reason I gave up studying Japanese). No I regret a lot.

The gist is that he didn't decide yet, if he wants to continue or not. Do you know the add-on rikaichan, Meoima? It is very helpful if you have trouble reading Kanji.

I often use an Ipad so the tap-on dictionary (which has Japanese-English dictionary) is quite useful. I can understand the general idea of these articles. If it's lengthy and they use too many difficult words It would take me longer to get the idea. Thank you very much for your suggestion.

Oh, that's probably the same then? It is a hassle with the Kanji, I think it is very hard to ever master japanese when you're not living in Japan and are confronted by them all the time. Even then - you have to make a big effort and cannot afford to slack off even after years. I'm glad there are so many helpful japanese fans here on GS and other forums who are nice and translate interviews and articles!

Dai looks gained the weight a bit? ;) Mao performed 'Jupiter'. Nobu performed 'William Tell' and 'Cotton Club' (rumor says Nobu landed 3A and a quad!)

Thanks, Deedee! Sounds like a wonderful show. Glad that Nobunari is thriving despite not getting any World or Olympic spots. I have always loved his skating. It's so tough in Japan, not just for the skaters (very crowded at the top!), but for fans of Japanese skaters, because there are so many wonderful people to admire. But Daisuke and Mao have the majority of my devotion; I have no problem making that decision.

Nice to see Dai looking so healthy and happy this is the 4th year he has done
the Kobe charity show. I read that after the show the cast and Dai stood for
three hours to accept donations from the audience. I hope that lots of money was raised.

Thanks to deedee for the links to the show and for your report on Worlds.

Here is a youtube news video clip of the show.

Another one by Boo-spo ;), where Dai talks, discreetly but more honestly I think, about his current condition of injury, how he is spending days after the Oly, the Saitama Worlds, the charity show; how happy he is to be able to hold the fourth show, how appreciative he is to the crowds and to Mao who has joined the show in spite of her packed schedule. And most of all, about his future: http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/52272783.html http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/52272781.html http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/52272778.html

Daisuke, rest well first, and take your time. As much as needed. We, your fans, will support you whichever way/path you are to choose to do next in your life! :yay:

Meoima, I agree, Dai looks more healthy here. :)

Here's a little present for everybody -- I found a post on tumblr where some kind soul has compiled links to almost every performance of Dai's (competitions, exhibitions, and ice shows) since 2001.

Enjoy!

This compilation is great, thanks for sharing. It hurts. I could've watched Daisuke in his early career when there was actually still a Grand Prix in Germany and even a World Championship in 2004 in Dortmund. Why oh why did I have different priorities back then? Even though technically kind of frustrating, his charisma is shining through even as a 16 year old under 6.0 at the Bofrost Cup. He is a wonder and I have regrets.... If only one could turn back time.
