Here you are, http://instagram.com/p/oxbKqOLJ9U/# on behalf of ioanap, hoping s/he would not mind me posting it instead. ;)

Thanks a million for your kindhearted words, cdngirl! :)

Thank you deedee1! I remember reading some of your past posts in this thread, and was struck by your personal insights about Daisuke and his situation as well as the skating scene in Japan.

I hope you will overcome whatever difficulties you are now facing and see this forum as a stress reliever as I did (do) when finishing my thesis. Like ionap and cdngirl, I look forward to seeing more of your insightful posts.

Thank you for pointing it out Maria. I've edited my post with the correct links.

Not at all, thank you for helping, deedee1! I second cdngirl and am happy to see you post here!

Thank you ionap. I was trying to PM you about it first, but I kept getting a notice that your name wasn't in the directory.

Anyway, thanks as always for the links you have provided us. Really appreciate your effort in finding those great pictures and videos.

That shot of Mao and Daisuke is indeed lovely. They wear their Kazakhstani attire well.

Great video of Dai rehearsing Kissing You in Almaty from Absolute Skating

Meanwhile Denis is already missing his "DT brother" Dai

Great to see close friendships among the skaters! I'm not at all surprised how well the 2DTs bonded as they seem to share a lot of similarities: same initials, winning bronze at the Olympics, controversial losses to Patrick Chan at Worlds, and as we saw in their step sequence battle, superb skating skills.

Denis of course is younger than Daisuke so Denis still has that boyish air, while Daisuke is all sexy man. Reminds me of the comparison Miki Ando made between Evgeni Plushenko and Yuzuru posted in the Yuzuru thread: "Yeah, the difference between Plushenko and him is masculin, powerful sexual attractiveness which he doesn't have yet..." (translated by yude).

Hopefully as they mature, the younger skaters will reach the same level of "hotness" and sex appeal as Daisuke and EP, although I must say the two certainly set a very, very high benchmark.

My pleasure deedee1. So glad you are back. Will you be attending any of the upcoming shows that Daisuke will be in? I always loved reading your play-by-play descriptions of the various shows you attended so look forward to more in the future.

Elladj posted this picture on instagram admiring Dai
http://i.instagram.com/p/o0AN5ppcjW/

And Denis posted this picture of, may I say, already legendary figure skaters. Daisuke Takahashi, Mao Asada, Alexei Yagudin and Stephane Lambiel.
http://instagram.com/p/oz36Vnu49P/

Oh ionap, the captions, especially Elladj's ("Congratulations on a great career. One of the best to ever do it - Disk - @d1skt"), while Dennis' caption states in part("... With no skates and no pressure. Only happiness. :)") seem like a valedictory.

Agree with Daisuke, Mao, Alexei, and Stephane being legendary. For sure we will see them in the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

I'm having a free evening so I've collected here some of the most memorable moments of Dai's career (British ESP moments included)
I'll call it a tribute to this talented skater all of us on this thread have had the pleasure of watching.

Thank you so much for this ioanap. I look forward to watching them when I have time.

I'd be happy if you would add the video below to your collection :)
This is what I ended up with when I searched for his name in Japanese, sorted by the most view counts. Cuteness alert!

Thanks for the warning mikaboo! I always thought Daisuke has animal magnetism, and this is further proof. ;)

It does seem like a valedictory, especially Elladj's caption. Maybe it is. The following year will probably help Dai come at peace with his results this past season and it's going to be easier to retire. But anything can happen - not ruling out the possibility (albeit small) of a comeback.

P&G posted this ad today on facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/ProcterGam...2188763085/720861487976151/?type=1&permPage=1

Starring athletes Daisuke Takahashi and Yuzuru Hanyu,
P&G presents Fantasy on Ice 2014 in Makuhari, held this weekend on June 7th and 8th.

Thanks ionap! The ad looks lovely: Daisuke's gaze is so intense and Yuzuru looks like an angel. So glad to see both of them together (finally!) in a show this year.

I see that show is exciting interest in more than one thread in this forum. :)

Dai looks perfect on the poster. The optimal amount of intensity mixed with the optimal amount of sparkles.

I'm not sure about the angle they shot Yuzu from, but yay for Japan's best male skaters appearing on the same show.

The only man that was left for me to watch when Yagudin retired.

I'm very sad about this too, but have you seen any juniors that you like? Maybe you'll find one worth keeping up with!!

I intend to get full-immersion with juniors once the WC is finished. :)
Some people here have been very helpful with many names.

Dai is Dai though. He will always have a special place in my heart.
