^ It's possible but according to Marina they don't *have* the ice dance students because California isn't interested in ice dance. (Which, I admit, sounds absurd.)
Perhaps they don't know how to network and drum up business, or perhaps they don't have the money to do so. It's true that competing and coaching are two different things, but so are coaching and business-building. If I were rich, I would give them a big hunk of money for scholarships and see what happened.
There are so many things that could be done for figure skating if more fans were millionaires! Or perhaps nowadays I should say multi-millionaires.
