well No im not talking about his technical skills
I don't think he'll pull the same PCS as Chan if he goes clean

Takahashi was scored according to how he performed. He can certainly do a lot better than he did at 4CC where he missed his big jumps off the top of his LP. While the success rate of his quad is not high but improved, his 3A is usually very well executed and should offer him no problem.

Takahashi knows what he needs to win over Chan and he is striving for a quad in each program to close the BV gap enough so Chan would have no room for error if Takahashi is perfect.

He's already posted higher PCS than Chan in the short program (as has the absent Plushenko) and the long program at NHK. The tendency to believe he won't catch Chan in PCS is more base on personal preference to who should have high PCS, but it's Chan's astonishingly high base value and ability to beat Takahashi in GOEs that give him that edge, moreso than PCS.

It might surprise everyone like Takahashi and Lysacek's SP scores at 2010 Olympics - the "Inman Effect".;)

Yeah, Lysacek was supposed to be more musical than Takahashi in SP. Figure skating seems to have its own definition of musicality, which is very difficult for outsiders to comprehend. No wonder why the sport/art continues to lose popularity in North America. Not to mention that it's tiring to hear same music over and over again.

Latest news on Japanese skaters.

Narumi and Tran arrived Nice already.

Akiko left Nagoya for Nice.
During s short interview at the airport, Akiko says she has had pretty good trainings the last 2 weeks, in a good shape, so that she feels fully prepared for the Worlds.

Kanako has competed in a local competion this weekend! *_*
She had tried her new jump layout; went for 3-3 in the second half of FP and successfully landed!
Is scheduled to fly Monday morning for Nice.
Hope she gets enough time there to adjust jet lag.

Latest news clip focused on Dai and Patrick, broadcasted on Fuji TV last night.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGIHkOMdT8U

Right after 4CC, Dai flew to Detroit to rework on choreo for Klook with Pasquale.

They mainly focused on more transtions, but with more speed overall. Even changed step sequences, they said in this vid.

Dai admits that the difference in points (30) between Patrick and himself at 4CC made him realize how far Patrick is head of him, and motivated him once again.
His coach Utako Nagamitsu, who was always with him since the age of 14, says she does not remember to have seen Dai practice that hard. She and other coach (Takeshi Honda, probably?), fearing for a potential injury, had to check on him and ask whether he is okay.

Japanese newspapers also reported on Japanese skaters:

-Mao looking great. She landed a couple of 3A with UR, but she says she feels good on her axels for her first trial in Nice.
-Dai's quads are not stable yet at his first apprearance during practice session.
-Takahiko has a small trouble with his skating boots; recently he broke into a new pair of boots, but did not fit him, so had to go back to the old one. Now he feels much better with no pain.
