Well, it's all wrong for grading the step, but worthwhile for seeing that the skaters are actually skating a circle and how they're doing it.

Thanks for this! I wish they'd do things like this during TV or online broadcasts.
NBC uses Tracy Wilson for these sort of breakdowns once in a while at major events like Olympics and Worlds (when they bother to air them). Sadly, none of their other analysts are qualified to do the same when Tracy is calling dance. They really need to clone her a couple of times and then replace everyone else or hire Judy Blumberg to work alongside her on NBC and not just UniSport.
Well, she is a tech specialist, and from time to time she's working the competition in quite a different chair than US or NBC...
They really should hire Doris!!! Thanks again for this!
Question on FD's - and not to stir up trouble, but (deep breath): can someone explain V/M's first lift - the one that sort of looked like he was about to drop her. I can't believe it is supposed to look like that, but then again...
Emma, I think it is meant to accentuate the offbeat, jazzy quality of that section of music. It's actually very much in character with the music IMO, but their proportions to each other may make its execution more difficult to be done smoothly. Tessa has very long legs which can throw off both their center of gravity with her in that position. Adding in the one foot and curved aspect only adds to making it potentially awkward if not done perfectly.
^thanks! I appreciate the explanation - and confess to not even seeing the curve before; I just sort of gasped at one point and was like, did they mean to do that? I can see it much better now.
