Honestly, I think Ashley Wagner is over-hyped, but I am shocked by her "relatively" low score....I think her combination jump and axel was rather well executed. I would place her in a close third next to Mao Asada..

*I just realized Ashley did a 3L-2T...for some reason I thought it was a 3-3. My bad..in that case, I would still place her closer to Elene.

Elene was better, both technically and PCS wise. Thankfully the judges got it right.( I would have Elene second actually)

I just wonder, is the combo 3L-3T very difficult? I have never seen anyone performing it. Wouldnt it be good to train it as plan B, if 3F-3T does not work?? To me it looked like Ashley had lot of flow out of the 3L to add 3T.

3Lo is an edge jump. Normally, the skater lands with less speed at and edge jump(loop, salchow, axel) when we compare with Toe Pick Jumps(Toeloop, Flip and Lutz). That's why a lot of skaters are more successful with 3T+3T than 2A+3T.

Hmmmm, interesting. I wasn't expecting Asada to make the final group, but it looks very possible now. Helgesson and Marchei will probably go behind Mao, and at least one of Czisny, Murakami, Kostner and Suzuki is likely to not skate well.

No way she undermarked. That's her personal best. She scored pretty close to Yuna and Miki last year.

The pcs seem a little low for the fire and conviction she had is all I am saying but as long as it is consistent (pcs). This means if Alyssa is flat as she can be she needs to be penalized. they did that to Polina K so as long as they mark what they see I guess the relatively low pcs of Alena are fine. I won't compare them to dance where the pcs are really high.

Her jumps were most likely UR...even if just slightly, the technical specialist in this competition is very very strict. We should wait for the protocol
