It looks like Polina will make the long, anyway.

    And she did.

The law gives 6 months up to a year off work instead here in order to breast feed and not send the baby in a baby sitter. To each their own. What if Volchova was still pregnant and delivered the baby in Nice?
Whats next, birth control applied to coaches?

Tuktamisheva went to 3 major competitions this year with her local coach, not Mishin.

I hope Leonova will save the day.

but I doubt she'll place in Top 13
then Russia might get 2 spots for ladies for 2013

this could be Polina's first and last Worlds meet for a long time
they will send Tukt and Adelina/Alena next year for the 2 spots

I am amazed that Kwak scored only 1 point higher than Clara Peters on the technical score. This is just wrong

Kwak was already underrotating everything in sight when she was still a skinny minny - now she is a young woman and those underrotations were blatant. You didn't have to be Shin Amano to see that.

Kwak does not qualitify for the LP. Does this mean Korea loses their spot for Worlds next season?

You can't lose a spot for Worlds; every federation gets one. But the S. Korean entry will have to skate in the preliminary round.

Wow! Great skate for Kerstin FRANK It was a beautiful program. Her jumps are so high. It really refreshing to see a skater like her to crack the top 24 even if the judges are hard with those skater in component score. (Because of her nationality or lack of support from the judges.) Good for her!

Every federation gets one entry, who may or may not have to further qualify.

I can not believe that Yu-Na will have to skate the preliminary, if she comes back.
