In first place. Good for her - she doesn't do much for me, but it was a decent skate!

Alena skates like the Trans-Siberian Express. Not a lot of frills, but when she stays on the rails she builds up a real head of steam, blowing off energy and momentum everywhere :).

SUPERB stuff from Alena!! That might be just enough. Only Carolina and/or Mao can beat her now. Hope Ksenia puts in a solid performance to secure Russia's 3 spots at worlds for next year. That would mean a team of Alena, Adelina, & Tuk for next years
worlds.

Ashley still leads in the FS section.

Wagner beats Leonova in the LP, but Alena's SP lead saves the day for her and into 1st.

Ashley's free skate outscored Alena's. but I don't understand how Alena got higher PCS. Ashley's presentation looked much cleaner to me.

Disgraceful Ashley was way better then 1 point over Leonova. What a crap program with no transitions.

I will say this about Alena Leonova: Her personality fills out the music (Lux Aeterna) instead of being overwhelmed by it, which is no small feat.
