In the event website there's lots of really interesting articles about participating teams and synchro skating in general.

This event will be super exciting. Sweden's own number one team Team Surprise is 5(?) time world champion, but has missed the podium for I think 3 seasons in a row. Last year they were 3rd in the Free program, but finished 4th overall. Last time the World Championships were in Sweden they won, so I'd think their goal is to glimp back to the top in front of their home audience. Their free program (Moulin Rouge) looks really strong.

The two finnish teams, Marigold IceUnity (Finland 1, 2nd last season) and Rockettes (Finland 2, reigning world champions) have set their goals high too, both want to be champions again. Both are 3 time world champions already. ROckettes' season hasn't gone so well, but they came back strong for finnish nationals which they won. Marigold's season started really stong and they won both finnish qualifying events and their first international event in Salzburg, but lost to 3rd finnish team, Team Unique in Rouen, France.

USA's Haydenettes have been 3rd two seasons in a row. Their coach Saga Kranz is form Finland. They have had some technical difficulties this season, but I think they will be stronger than ever this year. They are skating to Lady Gaga for their free program.

Canadas Nexxice is really strong team too! They won the Championship 2008, but have missed the podium since then. They won Rockettes and Haydenettes in international competition held in Canada in december, but lost to both finnish teams in Salzburg in January.

Synchro fans have been waiting the coming of russians for many years now, they have been technically really good skaters, but when the skaters are put together, they really haven't got their act together, unfortunately. This year, their free program is really good (they too are skating to moulin rouge) but the program had many technical mistakes. I hope they have fixed them for worlds. I think they have shot for top 5 if they have. They were 7th last year.

I think that for top 10 the other competitors will be Canadas 2nd team, Les Supremes, Sweden's 2nd team Team Boomerang, Germany's Team Berlin 1 and USA's 2nd team the Chrystallettes.

I'll have to go hunt through the website, for sure. I'm still recovering from Worlds and Easter.

SVT play GMT+1(for Europe + some nations in North Africa and the Middle East) Can probably be watched for a month after the competitions.

    Friday April 13

19:30-21:30 Play/Mobile SP LIVE (from third group)
    Saturday April 14

    18:30-20:10 Play/Mobile FS LIVE

Finnish webTV GMT + 2 (don't know if it's geoblocked) Choose muodostelmaluistelun.

    Friday April 13

    18.30 SP (from first group)
    Saturday April 14

    16.00 FS

Hard to learn the rules when there are few opportunities to watch synchro skating. I'll watch this world's as entertainment and try to learn something. I'l know what I like, but maybe can't pick the "right" podium.

In addition to the Golden Skate synchro rule-thread I find this interesting.

Cool that the teams can include both men and women. I remember a German team with four men. Sweden also had two men at some point. Anyone knows the rules about this? Is it still allowed to have mixed teams?

    Btw I found this

And here is Andrea Dohany teaching synchronized skating for the gala final at world's 2008 in Göteborg; Easy peasy doing wheels.

Gold luck to Andrea with team Surprise

    Go all teams! Have fun

Actually Russia1 is 5th in PCS, less than 2 points behind the best. I enjoyed them. They did a great performance, light with very good skating skills. Well deserved surprise of the evening.

I liked Canada1 and Russia1 best. Sweden1 was different, but the Super Mario music sounds a bit childish to me. I also think France was fun. Don't know why they got such really low points.

The Finnish teams were disappointed with their scores. Overall I understand the points were lower than usual. The performances I saw were impressing to me though. Just one fall from the Japanese team.

Anyway it's close in the top. The FS will be exciting with harder elements, like lifts.

Lots of atmosphere in the audience. 5 000 noisy people clapping, cheering and booing. Seems like real fun to be there.

    Opening ceremony presenting the teams.

    Thanks for the links!!

It looks like the feed is only available in Europe

However, it looks like the LP will be broadcast by the CBC in Canada at 2:00 PM EST. Possibly, youtube videos will happen.

And I've heard this link to Swedish TV works in the US, at least on phones and tablets:

    http://svtplay.se/

The LP starts at 12 to 12:30 PM.

    http://svtplay.se/v/2770234/konstakn...p104182,1,f,-1

    Is the direct link.

At the Swedish TV site, look for Sport, then Konstĺkning, and one of the videos, labelled LIVE, will be VM Team Konstĺkning.
That's it. Right now, it's showing a clock to the start time.

Archival footage of yesterday's SP is geoblocked outside Sweden.

skatebuzz has an archive of the Canadian synchro championships which is viewable in the US, and perhaps everywhere:

So people in US (maybe all over the world) can watch the Swedish broadcast on phones/tablets? That's great

The two last groups then + probably the best earlier teams during ice surface.

Looking forward to some comments This will be really exciting

Oh, so you couldn't watch in US after all. Next season world's is in Boston, US and then I suppose we can't watch in Europe

I don't know how to comment on this competition. The 5 best are really close. Different styles, but oh so entertaining. Nail biting all along. Some falls and bumping into each other, but I'm surprised there are not more mistakes with 16 skaters fast speeding like this on the ice.

Poor, poor Russia. For me they had the best performance style wise. A fall in the circle element destroyed them. It took soooo long for her to get back in place; deductions -2 and a drop from first to fifth place

Congrats to Sweden, Canada and USA

Over all WHAT A GREAT SHOW
