I was interested to see that there were 10 male skaters, scattered among different teams at this world championship!

Am I the only one who think Canada 1 (Nexxice) was robbed of the gold medal? Team Surprise had several mistakes, and I feel they were royally gifted in PCS compared to, first and foremost Nexxice, but also MariGold Ice Unity.

This was by far the wierdest competition I've ever seen.

Technical panel was really stright, and there were many questionable calls both in short and free program. It really bother me, that many of those teams, expecially the Finns have had their levels checked both nationally and internationally, and then at worlds you don't get any levels. FInland 2 (Rockettes) had the best PCS in short, but their base falue was 14th best.
32blades has made a good chart about the marks in short program.

A good thing was, that the russians has finally made it to the top, it was unfortunate that they couldn't get a medal in the end, that fall in the circle cost alot.

As for Nexxice, i really like their style and their superb skating skills, but i think their programs are little "save" PCS wise. Team Surprise made many mistakes, but their programs have more transitions, and even though thei look messy, more coreography. But that I can't understand that Swedes skating skills beat both the Nexxice and the Finns.
I'm little puzzled about MIU's score overall. I heard many spesialist and judges in the audience didn't understand the results and why so many of their elements were called that way. It's understandable for their intersection where they had too unfortunate falls.

Competition was very close, as for both winners of the long and short didn't even get a medal in the end (except the little one..).

That's one of the things that surprised me too. I find it hard to believe that The Rockettes were only 14th on base value. Looks iffy to me, and doesn't make much sense. I didn't really understand Team Surprise's win with those mistakes and their lack of great skating skills like Nexxice or the Finns, and this comes from someone who is half Swedish!

This was one of the few competitions in figure skating/ice dance/synchro that I had a hard time understanding the judging. I still have a hard time with it 2 weeks later. lol!
