Is there enough polka music in the Titanic Soundtrack for it to work as an SD?

Take out the last 30 seconds of the second piece and the interlude between the two pieces and it works perfect.

    Hi!

According to an IN article Weaver & Poje's new FD is too LXD, The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers. I think this is going to be very interesting!

I just read the article on IN and was about to post - you beat me to it! This sounds very, very interesting to me and challenging. I so enjoyed their programs last year, especially the FD and really am excited to see what they do this year. Wishing them the very, very best this season!

I figured that was the music they'd use... but I honestly don't see the Polka so much as the jig... are they considered the same?

No, they aren't the same, and R&K got heavily penalized for producing a polka to a hoedown back in 1991/1992.

However, these days you can fool around with the music with an editing program and in the end, it could magically be a polka.

One would start by editing out the bagpipes, right?

You'd start by getting 2/4 time and the correct number of beats per minute. Then you'd attack the bagpipes!

When I went to Youtube to hear their music, the label on the piece states that it is titled "John Ryan's Polka" so it must fit.

After all, for LP they just say "Bat" not even "The Bat"

    Very terse style there.
Yes,it's Die Fledermaus and I believe the LP is Mendelssohn Violin Concerto No. 64

    ISU Bio updates:

    Tomas Verner CZE
    SP Dracula (soundtrack)
LP It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing by Duke Ellingtonn and Louis Armstrong; La Vie En Rose; Sing, Sing, Sing

I'm sad to hear Verner is using Dracula--not because it isn't a good choice, but because the owners of the soundtrack have youtube videos which use it taken down as a way of enforcing their copyright. That will limit options to rewatch it.

    Michal Brezina CZE
SP In the Hall of the Mountain King by Epica
LP The Untouchables (soundtrack) by Ennio Morricone (new arrangement)

Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band, and they are doing their version of Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King.

The only US man on the GP who hasn't posted an IN bio update is Jeremy Abbott. Most of these have been reported here already. However, there is one change:

    Johnny Weir
    SP Music: TBD
FS Music: "Phoenix" by various composers

I notice that Johnny's planned Lady Gaga SP is now TBD? I wonder whether there is a problem with getting rights to the music? Or whether he is waiting post Champs Camp?

Means both Tomas and Michal are going to keep their LP from the last season, aren't they?

I came here with the intention of posting that news. You were faster
I kind like the idea. Epica is a very decent band and I like their version of In the Hall of the Mountain King. I wish more skaters could pick up songs from bands such as Epica, Nightwish and Therion. It would be a great way of working with music that can be classical and have a modern approach to it cause those bands have some great songs (not all but at least some :P)
