I just love this one by Takahiko Kozuka. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of it this year:

Knew I was missing a certain exhibition in my first post that I just couldn't put my finger on. I also wish we could've seen more of it this season.

Now that we're on Kozuka, thought I'd add that his spread eagles alone endears me to his "Free Fallin'" EX.

:)While I was enjoying Yuka Sato ( darling girl ! ) on the first page, it reminded me of this, and lo and behold , there it was right on the side. A World Pro artistic program from 2000..more or less an Exhibition...

I never tire of it.

Wanted to post Yuka's "Afternoon of a Faun" but didn't know whether it counted as an exhibition. I guess it kinda does...? Well whatever, I could watch that program all day...

I used to really like exhibitions but not so much anymore. There were skaters I like watching skate exhibitions:

Michelle Kwan
Duh. :D My favorites were Dante's Prayer, Winter, Fields of Gold, One More Time, East of Eden and This Time Around (we've all seen them so I won't bother with posting links). She often put a lot of thought and care into creating her exhibition numbers and they were always so special and touching.

Sasha Cohen
Sasha's had a zillion exhibition numbers but I think Hernando's Hideaway was my favorite. I also like her Romeo and Juliet one as well.

A few others from back when: Kristi Yamaguchi (It's Oh So Quiet), Oksana Bauil (Feeling Begins, Sadness, Rock Around the Clock duet with Victor Petrenko), Rudy Galindo, Surya Bonaly, and Kurt Browning (mainly Brick House and Singing in the Rain).

In terms of current skaters, there are only a few:

Mao Asada
Queen of the exhibitions for this era of skaters. I did a blog post about it a while ago. She consistently puts out beautiful programs that really show a side of her that we don't get to see much in competition. Ballade, Por Una Cabeza and her recent Jupiter are my favorites. She's simply breathtaking in her exhibitions.

Akiko Suzuki
Her Libertango exhibition is the gatekeeper of that music; no one can touch it. That was the program that made me fall in love with her and made me realize just how amazing she is as a performer.

Kanako Murakami
Her most recent exhibition (I don't know the name) confirmed my belief that she is a versatile skater when it comes to music. The song is beautiful even though I don't understand the words and she relates to it so well; you can really see the feeling in her performance and I love that. It's a really lovely program and she skates it beautifully.

Adelina Sotnikova
Her Swan Lake exhibition blew me away last year and her Hernando's Hideaway did it again. I love her carriage, lines and extension; she is so gorgeous to watch. Also her expression and the way she hits the accents on the music makes her stand out from the nearly all of the other up-and-coming ladies.

That's about it, though I did recently watch US Novice Champ Karen Chen's exhibition and I have to say I was quite impressed with her. I loved the fans and the way she utilized them in the program, though I do think it'd have looked better if they matched her costume. She has a presence about her that is really good for someone so young. It'll be interesting to see how she develops.

Right? I hope he keeps this exhibition for next season too--we need to see more of it!!!

^ Oh, I love Plushy's "Sex Bomb." It's a hoot! I must say that I thought his "Baby Sex Bomb" was ridiculous (there was a discussion about that one quite a while ago on this board.
