somebody post Caro her gold medal for 2013 W. while at it, post Akiko her silver medal, too.
if these two skate like this next year, no one will catch them. Impossible.

I fully support this! But Akiko and Caro should duke it out between them.....if Akiko skates her LP clean, I can see her beat Caro. But that's a big if.

WOW, I was very impressed by Gracie Gold in her first senior competition!!! Wonderful performances by Suzuki and Kostner. Hopefully Murakami will not drop in the freeskate too much.

As seen in the SP, if both are clean, both will get similar TES (both are capable of level 4 steps + huge GOE) but Caro has PCS advantage over Akiko.
If Akiko skates her LP clean and Caro makes 1 big mistake and 1 small mistake, Akiko will win. Would be great if she does. These two old ladies need to establish themselves as front runners by 2014.

What a great competition! Not only the high level of skating, but the format, the teams were so excited, organization and all... Japan giving a lesson on how to organize a great meet.

so sad for Adelina. Where's that gorgeous skater she used to be last season?

It's called puberty. She's in that time when a female skater struggles to adapt to her new body and keep her jumps. Even the great skaters have had to deal with it. I think next year she will be back and even better.

What a great day for Figure skating! One of the best events this year! Can't stop gushing over Carolina and Akiko and Kanako as well!

Protocols are up. Lots of 3-3 attempts except Phaneuf and Marchei.Lacoste, Leonova and Sotnikova got their attempt downgraded.
Gracie's 3F-3T got positive goe and 10.30 points.
Ashley's 3F-3T got minor negative goe and 9.10 points. Positive goe on the loop, 2A downgraded, also lost a level on a spin (but level 4 on the steps).
7 ratified triple-triples is still pretty good for a Ladies event of 12 participants. Even though they're mostly triple toe-triple toe.

Aww, sad to hear about Ashley messing up in the SP. Maybe she's a bit burnt out? She's been pretty busy since nationals.

Sad about Adelina too. I still believe this girl is a special talent; she's just in a rough patch. Hopefully she'll have a better LP.

Great for Carolina, Akiko and Kanako. I haven't seen the performances yet but from the comments and the scores it looks as though all three rocked it!

Good job for Gracie too. Not perfect but the judges see what kind of firepower she has. Of course her PCS aren't going to be great (nor should they be given the way she skates right now) but this is a good start for her and hopefully she'll have a strong performance. I don't really care to see her medal here (I want the podium to be some combo of Carolina, Akiko, Ashley or Kanako) but a top 5 finish here is all she needs to set her up for next season.

If Alena's sick, that's too bad for her. It's tough to give a solid performance when you don't feel well...though I'd be lying if I said I'm sad she's down in 9th place. I can't stand her skating...

The Canadian ladies...meh.

I do wonder if the French ladies will ever get their due in this sport? Probably not...

Can't wait to see how this one shakes out!

I'm curious how she'll do in the Free Skate. She had to modify her program to meet the senior requirements. She has done a fine job so far.
